When did Trump ever say he would have a “deportation force” going “door to door”?
Are these American citizens? No?
Then round them up. Are we also testy when they raid and cart off terrorist suspects?
“We catch them through things ike E-verify, we catch them through things like the criminal law enforcment system.”
We can pretend like these people have no brains and wont find work-arounds?
Business as usual.
Cruz:
“We don’t have any system that knocks door to door every person in America...”
Going door to door to every person in America looking for illegals?
I want to ask, who has suggested any such thing? Is Cruz trying to imply that someone has called for that?
But police did go from door to door in Boston looking for the terrorists.
“Will you have people going door to door rounding people up? “
That’s what they actually did, you clown. INS has been knocking on doors and deporting since the 80’s. This aint the Ted Cruz I knew 6 months ago.
No but we WILL live in one if you get your pals a way to stay Senator Cruz.
Isn’t there already an existing force that does this? I don’t recall Trump saying he’s going to create a new deportation force - only to expand existing one
“The Texas senator, who is leading the field of Republican presidential candidates in Iowa according to the latest polls, was asked by a man in the state if, like Trump, he believed that all undocumented immigrants should be deported.
Cruz replied, “Absolutely yes.”
“And in fact, look, there’s a difference,” said Cruz. “He’s advocated allowing folks to come back in and become citizens. I oppose that.”

What’s the difference?? Except Ted won’t let any back in.
Seems like picking nits.
He’s waffling here...not good if he wants the nomination.
“We don’t have any system that knocks door to door”
Actually, I *WANT* a force that KNOCKS, door to door.
What I also want to hear is, “We’re here to Ernesto Abdul Wang. Are they here? Thank you sir/madam”.
Mr. Cruz, what we have in a police state, is the no-knock warrants in the (illegal) ‘War on Drugs’, alimony payments, and overdue library books....aka on the smallest of charges for NO reason.
Damn skippy I want the ILLEGALS dealt with!
Not the end of the world if they go door-to-door, or equivalent, although it will mean that my wife will need to keep her passport card with her, as she’s from halfway around the world and has a strong accent.
She’s down for that, if it saves the country from a Democrat takeover.
Doesn't anyone care about the Fourth Amendment? FR used to be a bastion of conservatism. Where have they all gone?
Prohibit illegal immigrants from receiving financial benefits. On average, each household headed by an illegal immigrant in the United States receives over $14,000 in net government benefits per year, according to one study. This transfer of American taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants entices further illegal entry. Under a Cruz Administration, illegal immigrants will cease receiving government benefits.
You can find extensive info on the rest of what Cruz promises to do to resolve illegal immigration at the following link:

JAKE TAPPER, CNN: How do you get the people who are already in here, out?"If I am elected president, I will enforce the law. Federal immigration law says, if we aprehend an individual who is here illegally, we will deport them." What kind of crazy talk is that?!?!?!?TED CRUZ: You put in place a strong E-Verify system, that means people can not get employment without proving they are here legally. You implement a strong biometric entry-exit system for visas, so that we know the instant someone overstays their visa. 40% of illegal immigrants are visa overstays.
JAKE TAPPER: I stilll don't understand, these people living in the shadows, operating under the radar, will you have a force that goes door to door, rounds them up, and deports them.
TED CRUZ: We have a deportation force, it is called border patrol and immigration/customs enforcement. Border patrol is at the border, ICE is at the interior, they are both law enforcement.
This shouldn't be an issue of debate...
The Constitution answers this. It says that the president must "take care that the laws are faithfully executed," that is a responsibility. When the president takes his oath of office, that is a promise to the American people.
What Barack Obama says is he doesn't care what federal law says, he will not enforce it.
If I am elected president, I will enforce the law. Federal immigration law says, if we aprehend an individual who is here illegally, we will deport them.
JAKE TAPPER: I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but it is a simple question, yes or no. Will you have people going door to door rounding people up?
TED CRUZ: We don't have any system that knocks door to door every person in America, that is not how the American law enforcement system works... We don't live in a police state. We do have law enforcement, how do we catch people? We catch them through things ike E-verify, we catch them through things like the criminal law enforcment system.
Compare this to the genius of The Donald:
Trump: We're rounding them up in a very humane way, very nice way, and they're going to be happy because THEY want to be legalized.Pelley: What does that number look like to you? (How much it will cost to accomplish rounding up 11 million immigrants.)
Trump: It's going to work.
Pelley: How does that work?
Trump: Because they're going to come back. It's called, "management." ...We're gonna build a wall. We're going to create a border and it's going to be a great wall and it's not going to be very expensive.
Pelley: How are you going to build a wall that is cheap and impenetrable?
Trump: It'll be a real wall. It'll be a wall that works. It'll actually be a wall that will look good, believe it or not. Cause what they have now is a joke. They're ugly, little, and don't work.
Actually in many cases we do. Look at all the laws on the books any one of which can trap you and you break every day just out of ignorance. There are literally millions, federal, state and local. The original 10 were sufficient actually.
cruz back tracking again i am afraid...i like (d) cruz...but his wife and her connections and now all of a sudden looks like gope is seeing him as only backstop to TRUMP and he is beginning to soften to middle????? hope not but he has had just enough of a taste of the “golden” govt / power hungry” water in washington....
It would make zero sense to create a new force to go door to door to deport illegals until the border has been secured. Revolving door deportations are a waste of time and money. Cruz will build the wall, prioritize deportations by criminal offense, and partner with states and cities to deport the most dangerous illegal aliens first. As a secure fence of wall is completed, the the worst of the worst will continue to be targeted.
Millions of illegals will self deport over time, once a secure border becomes a reality and is no longer an empty promise. It would be stupid to mass deport millions of people, most of whom would just walk back into the country with little threat of apprehension. I suspect that Trump would take pretty much the same approach, despite his tendency to articulates his strategy in terms that simpletons can grasp.
I am increasingly coming to the conclusion that the Trump phenomena is a cult of personality. There is no significant difference between the positions of Cruz and Trump on immigration, but some people must buy that Trump brand, regardless of the contents of the product.
This is probably just yet another case of a media manufactured argument between Trump and Cruz that too many here fall for.
Before you buy into it, be sure to check out the EXACT quotes and questions being asked. I have seen numerous embellishments of both of these men’s comments.
Law enforcement goes door to door for some things in narrow areas.
No one plans to have immigration forces to go to EVERY door, come into our homes, and check all of our paperwork to see if we are here legally.
