The first shots exploded around 9:40 p.m.
On Sept. 11, 2012, a group of local fighters, AK-47s in hand, burst through the fortified front gate of a US outpost in Benghazi, Libya.
One very long night later, the diplomatic compound was engulfed in flames and a covert CIA base a mile away lay in ruins, partially reduced to rubble by mortar fire. Four Americans were dead, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two CIA members.
What happened in between is covered in "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi," a new film from "Transformers" director Michael Bay in theaters Friday.
It focuses on a team of six military contractors who happened to be stationed at the CIA base when the fighting broke out. They chose to join the battle, spending more than half a day repelling attackers.
The movie is based on the book "13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi" by Mitchell Zuckoff and that team of operatives.
"That's the reason we did the movie," one of the contractors, ex Marine Mark Geist, tells The Post. "No one has talked about those 13 hours and what happened."
Not that certain people haven't been trying to find out. The incident has become one of the most highly politicized events in modern US history. Who was to blame for the debacle? Republicans have been hellbent on pinning it on then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

It was being broadcast, LIVE, in both video and audio to every major military installation in the Mediterranean, Europe and in DC—
both at State and the White House as well as the Pentagon.
Over the next 12 hours why did the President not respond to requests for Cross Border Authority?
Why did Panetta or Biden appear in the Situation Room the entire night?
Who hatched the video lie as the response to this event?
Was the President incapacitated?
Why was the President never in the Situation Room? He was for the Bin Laden raid?
Why was General Ham relieved of command?
Never forget that there 42 Americans at risk of death or capture. Four died, others were wounded, but 38 or so got out.

All the gov’t people and contractors, especially those doing any kind of “security” work probably signed non-disclosure and pre-publication-review agreements. The trick is to get them under oath with immunity.

Funny thing is .. IT WAS NOT A CONSULATE .. and they might have called it that .. but under Hillary, the building did not even meet MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR A CONSULATE. There was not even the proper security to designate it as being a “Consulate”.
It was a place where Stevens held meetings .. away from the Embassy in Tripoli. Stevens should not have been there at any time, because it was not secure. The SECURITY was made up of Libyans .. who were tied to the terrorists.

But, I’ve read that the Pentagon sent an email to Hillary, telling her they were gearing up ready to go .. and SHE NEVER RETURNED THEIR CALLS .. NO NOBODY WENT ANYWHERE, AND TOO MANY PEOPLE DIED BECAUSE OF HER LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY TO OUR MILITARY.
I’ll never forget that night. The moment I saw the headline, I started weeping .. I paced my hallway and prayed for at least 5 hours. I’ve never been so upset.

I want to know where the survivors went and their stories.
Movies (not documentaries) made about real-time issues add an element of fiction because people see them and think no one’s in jail or prison, so it must not be real etc. It adds to the idiocracy.
A testament free speech documentary would serve as a better vehicle for raising awareness. I haven’t seen the film but I can bet it will be filled with ‘drama’, video and sound effects to make it seem like a thriller. Such ‘thrillers’ should be made after justice is served, not before.
