Eleanor Darragh, mother of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% , was born in Delaware on Nov. 23, 1934, establishing her citizenship by birth-and, according to U.S. law, that of her son, even though he was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Dec. 22, 1970.

The Cruz for President campaign provided Breitbart News exclusively with the birth certificate.

I read that she registered her baby's birth at the embassy to make him an American citizen.

Registering the birth at the consulate did not make Ted Cruz an American Citizen any more than your parents filing your birth certificate with the county made you one. He is an American citizen because his mother is an American citizen. Filing the paperwork merely recorded that fact.

“Some of the handwriting on that form is quite lovely.”

It’s called “Spencerian Penmanship” and I’m teaching it to my twin girls...which means I’m learning it, too!

You Cruz people seriously need to lay off the internet bravado.

I suppose you think “oh let’s lash out at them, because that will make this go away” is a coherent strategy?

While paying no attention to the fact that the Dems are gleefully waiting to knock Cruz right over the head with it.
Where you guys will then be wondering why all of your fist-shaking on the internet is having no affect.

Wouldn’t it be cool if this was a planned ploy (by Donald and Ted) to be able to do exactly that...bring up O’s locked records and why he cannot produce them? Ted proves his right to run very quickly...casting a very uncomfortable shadow on O and the dems who cover for him.

you are very correct, however multiple freepers have tried to tell me that Trump was only trying to help, and they actually somehow managed a straight face while saying it.

I hated his TV show and didn’t care much for him.

When he started running and was so vocal in his plans and criticisms of Obama, the immigrant thing, the wall, and almost everything he said, I decided to support him.

By support, I mean I did support him if Cruz didn’t get the nomination.

This underhanded ploy against Cruz has soured me on him ... but I will, of course, support him if he gets the nomination.

“It wasn’t an issue until Trump made it one.”

It was a ticking time bomb before. Just because we all paid no attention to it does not make it “not an issue”.

Now it’s still ticking. Just this time everyone knows the bomb is there. The question is when the Dems will push the detonator with their favorite judge.

Would the Founders have wanted wanted this?

If the Founders would not have considered Cruz a Natural Born Citizen, then why did the same people who wrote the Constitution include in the very first law concerning citizenship a statement that the children of citizens born outside of the country were "natural born citizens".

Not good enough! His mother’s mother’s mother needs to have been a citizen and all descendants born in the USA.

Sometimes you need to identify who you mean when using pronouns. Just a helpful hint to make you a better poster.

Trump didn’t even make it an issue. He just answered a question.

Yep-

NBC is just one kind of citizenship.
In most folks minds, it would be for those who’s citizenship could not be questioned.
Two citizen parents and born in the country, there could be no question. Anything else would be up for debate.
SCOTUS needs to act on this.
Hitlery sure will if Our Man Ted is the nominee.

Okay then. We don’t have to worry about Trump’s birth... it was obviously in Bethlehem.
