I read that she registered her baby's birth at the embassy to make him an American citizen.

Registering the birth at the consulate did not make Ted Cruz an American Citizen any more than your parents filing your birth certificate with the county made you one. He is an American citizen because his mother is an American citizen. Filing the paperwork merely recorded that fact.

Well, I read a post today that said one would have to register the birth with the US government.

I for sure don’t know the ins and outs of all this and wonder why it’s so complicated. Either you’re born here of citizen parents or not. I thought natural born referred to this exactly.

Yeah, you can be a citizen with a citizen parent...like my family members...but are they natural born? They have divided loyalties I know that..and seems to me that is what the framers wanted to avoid.
