A wacky Florida college professor who has long insisted the Sandy Hook school shooting was staged by the government was fired Tuesday, just a month after the parents of a child killed in the 2012 Connecticut attack accused him of taunting them.
James Tracy, a tenured associate professor of media history at Florida Atlantic University has made headlines by claiming on his blog that the school shooting, in which 20 children and six adults were killed by a mentally ill gunman, never happened. He made similar claims about the movie shooting rampage in Aurora, Colo., later that year, the 2013 Boston marathon bombing and other mass shootings.
“Tracy is among those who have personally sought to cause our family pain and anguish by publicly demonizing our attempts to keep cherished photos of our slain son from falling into the hands of conspiracy theorists,†Leonard and Veronique Pozner wrote in a Dec. 10 opinion piece for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The Pozners’ son Noah was one of the children killed in the Dec. 14, 2012, massacre. The still-grieving parents claimed that Tracy sent them a certified letter demanding proof Noah ever existed, then ridiculed them on his blog when they refused to respond.
Tracy previously told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel he considers his conspiracy-mongering a scholarly endeavor.
“I describe myself as a scholar and public intellectual interested in going more deeply into controversial public events,†he said. “Although some may see [my theories] as beyond the pale, I am doing what we should be doing as academics.â€

Another thought, the offended parents might try to litigate for damages under the tort of "Outrage."
It would be a long shot case, but they might just get a jury that is an angry as most Americans over the idiocy that our higher education system has become.

Tracy had the right to make his wacky claim, but when he demanded the parents perform a certain act that they had no obligation under the law to perform, then publicly demeaned them when they didn’t, Tracy has opened himself up to litigation.
Then add the “circumstances” to the “liability” shown above, and actually it might not be that difficult a case to win.
Maybe he just referenced the wrong shootings

Van Jones said 9/11 was done by the American government. He held some type of post in this administration.

One could also say, “what took them so long?” This guy is a loon, and at least initially, the “university” was allowing him free rein.
The videos showing the depositions of the maintenance person and how the district fought tooth and nail against every question posed was a little freaky to watch.
It appeared that the attorney asking the questions was trying to make a point that the school wasn't even in session and was in fact a closed facility. There was photo evidence of the decay of the building and the attorney was simply trying to ask about maintenance records and was fought tooth and nail.
Very bizarre to me that the district would fight so hard over simple maintenance records.

IMHO, you have to be nuts if you think anyone in the government is even competent enough to pull off a scam as big as Sandy Hook or 9/11. Most have a hard time even walking and chewing gum at the same time and even the smartest can't keep a secret for more than five minutes. (See Hillary's e-mails)
This 'professor' is among the total nut cases we have teaching our kids.
I don’t know who did it but personally visiting the community shows many sons and daughters died that day. That’s a fact and very sad...there are documented kids and gravestones.

Funny how there was no footage from more than 10 cameras on the school grounds and no death records of the “victims”.
