President Barack Obama used communist China, which has very strict gun ownership laws, as an illustration for the benefits of enhanced gun control on a populace.
Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, Obama acknowledged, “We know we can’t stop every act of violence, every act of evil in the world. But maybe we can try to stop one act of evil, one act of violence.â€
“Some of you may recall at the same time that Sandy Hook happened, a disturbed person in China took a knife and tried to kill, with a knife a bunch of children in China. But most of them survived because he didn’t have access to a powerful weapon,†Obama claimed. In one knife attack in China in 2012, a 36-year old man stabbed 22 kids and an 85-year old woman.

Bill Clinton never should have extended them MFN status without guarantees of human rights reforms. There should have been further guarantees that a failure on their part to enact these reforms would result in immediate termination of MFN status. Just another bad deal for americans made by American politicians.
This started long before Clinton, and those “reforms” would have removed any competitive advantage offered by Red Chinese slaves. We do business with them BECAUSE of their policies, not in spite of them; since 2007 many Americans have watched their standards of living fall to meet that of those Red Chinese slaves. Now we live in a country where few people have children, buy homes (or even cars), and increasingly work for the benefit of the state via taxation (ObamaCare being the latest - a mandatory new tax on every American unless they are already in approved health insurance plans).

You’re right; while Red China armed communists in North Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, we were making nice with them. I remember as a child playing with toys made in Taiwan; I haven’t seen something made in Taiwan in decades, and now we go along with Red China’s official line (that they are merely a separatist enclave that belongs to the Reds).

That is about all they get, but they still seem very unhappy; at my job I listen to taxpayers with no genetic future whine about the masses of people with no financial future that are literally inheriting the Earth. Once people reach middle age they realize the bread & circuses weren’t worth it; the Elves who made the greatest parts of Middle Earth in the end depart forever into the sunset, leaving it to lesser beings with a stronger desire to “be fruitful & multiply”.
China civilians never have owned guns. United States has 300 million guns in the hands of civilians. This blithering idiot Obama can’t see the difference. And criminals are dealt with very harshly in China. When my colleague left some money in his hotel room as a tip upon checking out, they sent the money back to him in US by mail!
