Cruz was inactive on the committee, having already announced that he would not personally become involved in any GOP senatorial primary campaign. This was so as to avoid having to endorse or otherwise support Texas' senior senator, John Cornyn.

Further, he argued that the committee should do the same -- not take sides in the GOP primaries. Heretofore that had generally been the oractice.

Cruz resigned his committee post after the Mississippi run-off.

You are now a better informed FReeper.

And I see here, at http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/229571-sen-ted-cruz-out-at-senate-campaign-arm , that

“He drew the ire of colleagues in 2013 by raising money for the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), which backed primary challengers to now-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Sen. Thad Cochran (Miss.).”

So Cruz burned his “establishment” bridges by supporting the primary opponent(s) for Cochran, which was presumably Chris McDaniel.

I guess I know what Cruz would say about this then. He’d agree that the NRSCC was dirty, and that’s why he fundraised against them.
