“He drew the ire of colleagues in 2013 by raising money for the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), which backed primary challengers to now-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Sen. Thad Cochran (Miss.).”
So Cruz burned his “establishment” bridges by supporting the primary opponent(s) for Cochran, which was presumably Chris McDaniel.
I guess I know what Cruz would say about this then. He’d agree that the NRSCC was dirty, and that’s why he fundraised against them.
