A new appraisal names the United States as one of the threats to Russia's national security for the first time, a sign of how relations with the west have deteriorated in recent years.
The document, "About the Strategy of National Security of Russian Federation", was signed by President Vladimir Putin on New Year's Eve. It replaces a 2009 version, endorsed by then- President Dmitry Medvedev, the current prime minister, which mentioned neither the United States not NATO.
It says Russia has managed to heighten its role in solving global problems and international conflicts. That heightened role has caused a reaction by the West, it says.
"The strengthening of Russia happens against the background of new threats to the national security, which has complex and interrelated nature," the document says.
Conducting an independent policy, "both international and domestic" has caused "counteraction from the USA and its allies, which are striving to retain their dominance in global affairs."
That in turn is likely to lead to "political, economical, military and informational pressure" on Russia, the document says."

Russia and Russia's president, Vladimir Putin, have been demonized by neoconservatives and their puppets in the US government and media.

The Russian government has learned that Washington does not respect Washington's own laws, much less international law, and that Washington cannot be trusted to keep any agreement.
Not like old trustworthy Russia, invading her neighbors, stealing their territory.

IMO, the US and NATO want to keep themselves strong by weakening other countries and manufacturing excuses to weaken them economically. By saying this, I’m being a realist. This is how Russia looks at their situation and this is a reality that we should understand about our competitors on the world stage. Putin is standing up to us and letting us know that he will protect the interests of Russia on the world stage.

But shouldn’t Lithuania have the right to arm itself as it pleases? Lithuania is a free, sovereign state and whether it goes nuclear or not should be determined by Lithuanians.
I agree. Imagine if Lithuania decided to arm itself with U.S. nukes pointed at Moscow. The Russians would have something to complain about, instead of all of their caterwauling about NATO.
Russian foreign affairs has always acted with the result being hurting America’s interests worldwide, and Russian military and intel services have always acted in harming us, undermining us, targeting us and if possible destroying us.
Russian nukes including their sub nukes are in place to utterly destroy us who they consider their enemy.

No - I was just responding to your request to a pointer that would direct you to “the information that indicates Lithuania wants to target nuclear missiles at Russia.” Not Lithuania, but possibly Poland.

If a Republican is elected, Poland will have BMD.
1. Lithuania does not want to target nuclear missiles at Russia, andMoreover, Poland is not on the border with Russia (except for Kaliningrad, which is a Russian nuclear base already). So what about Aesop's fable? Perhaps the Russians should read it.
2. Lithuania has not threatened to use nuclear weapons against Russia.
