HONOLULU — President Obama will meet with Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch on Monday to finalize a set of executive actions on guns that he will unveil next week, according to several individuals briefed on the matter.
White House officials declined to comment on Obama’s plans beyond releasing his weekly radio address on Friday, a day earlier than usual. But according to those familiar with the proposal, who asked for anonymity because it was not yet public, the president will expand new background-check requirements for buyers who purchase weapons from high-volume gun dealers.
The president will also use his executive authority in several other areas, these individuals said, but the overall package has not yet been finalized.
In the radio address, Obama said he was moving unilaterally because Congress had failed to address the growing problem of gun violence.

It will take far more than a year to get the courts to rule. Even if you win in court, they will appeal, and appeal again. It takes years to get to USSC. Until USSC rules, the executive orders will stand. You plan will not stop him.
Do you really think a bill “rebuking” Obama will stop him?
Enough with the meaningless rhetoric, tell me what the Republicans can do to stop this.

Yes, I can read. If you or the OP thinks the Republicans can do something that will stop Obama, then you/he needs to describe the various steps you/he thinks the Republicans can take that will stop him. And, explain why these steps will be effective.
It does not good to accuse someone of failing to act unless there is something they can do to fix the problem.

Gee, I have read the US Constitution at least several times but this "Professor of Constitutional Law" has found something that I can't find there. Where, Mr President, is the wording that allows you to do this "because Congress had failed to address the growing problem ..."? That sounds like tyranny in the making to me! Many tyrants are known for their expediency, Hitler, Stalin, Mao & Pol Pot come to mind!
Of course he is a DEMOCRAT President, the rules are different for them. If a Republican were to, say, issue an executive order to save thousands of lives (annually), surely everybody would see him using the same argument! Right?
The states got an injunction to stop his SECOND illegal amnesty for illegal aliens. The Republicans should have been in court the day after his FIRST illegal amnesty for illegal aliens. They didn’t.
They should be in court to get an injunction against these illegal actions. They won’t.

I live in Georgia and I am a free man. I’m not a subject. I will never abide by an executive action. If the president pretends that he can tell me what to do with my property I will ignore his pretend laws. I will sell as many firearms as I like. I never make a profit, so screw him. If he sends his Goons to me there will be blood. Screw it.
I suspect the Secret Service would evict the evil thug if he overstayed his reign by even one minute past noon on January 20, 2017. They hate and despise him, as all decent people must, and their job is to protect the Office of the Presidency, not to protect a usurper.

The premise was the Republicans should do something that will “stop this”. Even if you can show that the Republicans have standing to challenge this and even if the Republicans get an injunction in a circuit court, DOJ will appeal to a higher court. If DOJ loses there, they will appeal to the DC Court. If DOJ loses there, DOJ will appeal to the USSC. While all those appeals work through the system, the Executive Orders will stand. Obama will be out of office before you can complete this process. How has that stopped anything? If you want to stop these executive orders, you need to get a new executive who will repeal them on his/her first day in office.
This forum is full of well meaning people demanding that the “Republicans do something”. Do something? Do what? If you want to claim the Republicans need to “do something to stop this” and you can’t describe what “something” will stop this, then you’re just looking for an excuse to blame Republicans.
Patriots, including FFL holders, have a duty to ignore his new rules.
Nothing I’ve read about this so far is enforceable. Right now it looks like window dressing, a constant theme of the past 7 yrs.

The SECOND illegal amnesty for illegal aliens CANNOT move forward.
That’s what stops him.
