You are so right. Cruz is the most truly genuine conservative we’ve had to vote for since Reagan and he gets vilified by the same six or eight posters in every thread. I’ve followed Free Republic for fifteen years, mostly just as a reader not a poster, and I’ve never been more discouraged with this site. How many of the Cruz bashers are actual conservatives? I daresay very, very few...I leave disheartened after I visit this site now. It used to be a much needed source to help me get through the tough times of the past eight years. I always knew there were people out there who thought as I did and believed in conservatism as I do. I don’t feel that way anymore when I come here—just read endless bashing and lies directed at a sincere Christian man who is a tireless champion of the Constitution...Very, very sad.

There about 30 or 40 of them, not six or eight, but your point still holds.

Trump has NOT taken attacks simultaneously from multiple PAC’s that have plenty of money. Bush was nothing and he did half the job himself. Well, actually, Bush did more than half by making a fool of himself.

There is a conservative effort to primary Cornyn. It is very difficult to unseat an incumbant establishment candidate. Does Eric Cantor ring a bell? Cornyn will be primaried, just a matter of time.

Remember, the GOP establishment is still alive and well in Texas as well. Ted Cruz beat the establishment candidate for that senate seat in a run-off. The guyz name was David Dewhurst...or as we called him in Texas, David Dew-nothing.

Real peach this guy was. David Dewhurst was the Lt. Governor of Texas and blocked countless conservative legislative bills. When he announced his run for the U.S. Senate, conservatives rallied.

Ted Cruz won. Ted Cruz held the solicitor general position in Texas. He sued the Obozo administration a dozen times or so and Won!

Don't believe all the parroting of the media against Cruz. He is the real deal. A true constitutional conservative, Christian and statesman.

Do I agree with every position he’z held...no. Gotta tell ya though, most positions he takes..I agree.

I would not be surprised if existing law mandates the deportation of illegals. Cruz is not ready to go that far, so he’ll have to do some wiggling, some gymnastics to evade that and still look rock solid regarding the law and the Constitution. I’m sure he has an expansive, heart-felt response ready to go.

The PAC’s are taking on Cruz because he represents the biggest threat to the E because they know Trump will be easier, especially in the later primaries because Trump does not have the ground game, something Cruz has in spades.

Mark my words, if they succeed with Cruz they will come en mass for Trump and all the time he has been playing patsy with the Clintons.

Trump has not faced the onslaught that is coming.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a Trump fan although he is not my first choice and I will vote for him in the general. TPTB will be coming like a tsunami for him.

Cruz would have been taken out months ago, if Trump had not

Trump was tested more than any politician in history.

There is a reason SUPERPAC’s are not attacking Trump.
They see what he did to Bush. They fear him.

Cruz has plenty of PAC money. It is time he is tested.
And we will see how he handles it.
