The House of Representatives will vote in a matter of days to confirm the changes the Senate made to the reconciliation bill that would de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business, which was caught selling the body parts of aborted babies. Hearings have exposed how the abortion company likely violated federal laws to sell the body parts.
The House plans to vote for the Senate-passed de-funding legislation on January 6 after Congress returns from its Christmas break. Once it approves the bill, Speaker Paul Ryan will sign it and send it to pro-abortion President Barack Obama, who is expected to veto the legislation. The vote would come days before Obama’s expected State of the Union address and Obama has 10 days to sign or veto the bill, which he’s already threatened to do.
In comments about the omnibus bill and the reconciliation bill, Speaker Ryan made it clear that the omnibus, contrary to multiple news reports, does have limited on Planned Parnethood funding and other pro-life riders that stop abortion funding.
“First of all, we did put the riders on Planned Parenthood to prevent them from having any money going toward abortion – like we have in the past – and we maintained all of our Hyde Amendment protections for pro-life,†Ryan said.
Ryan said the House had no chance of getting a bill to de-fund Planned Parenthood to Obama’s desk if it put the de-funding language in the omnius as opposed to the reconciliation bill.
“So we maintained our pro-life riders, but what we realized was the Planned Parenthood defunding bill was going to get filibustered in the Senate, so we weren’t even going to get past the U.S. Senate with a Planned Parenthood bill in the omnibus, so we used the one tool we could use to prevent a filibuster and advance this bill, which is called reconciliation,†he explained. “So we have Planned Parenthood defunded in the reconciliation bill. You can use this bill once a year and we used it for this.â€
Following Obama’s veto, House Republican leaders will push for a veto override vote on January 26th. That vote would come just days after more than half a million Americans are expected to march for life in the nation’s capital and solemnly mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which has resulted in the deaths of 57 million unborn babies since 1973.
Both the House and Senate would need a two-third vote (67%) to override Obama’s expected veto. The House passed the bill in October on a 55% vote margin with virtually every Democrat voting against it.
Leading pro-life groups say the passage of the Planned Parenthood de-funding bill and the subsequent veto and override votes sets up the pro-life movement for the 2016 elections — where pro-life voters will need to defeat pro-abortion Hillary Clinton and elect a pro-life president if they want the nation’s biggest abortion business de-funded in 2017.
“As we learned from the reconciliation fight to defund Planned Parenthood, we CAN advance pro-life legislation through the Senate… but the veto pen of a pro-abortion president remains our biggest road block,†Susan B. Anthony List spokeswoman Jill Stanek says. “Only when we elect a pro-life president (and retain our pro-life majorities in Congress), can we get a bill defunding Planned Parenthood signed into law.â€
“President Obama is likely to veto the recent reconciliation bill defunding Planned Parenthood as soon as it gets to his desk,†Stanek said. “Hillary Clinton would be no different, which is why we must work to advance pro-life candidates and ensure a pro-life candidate wins the White House. Planned Parenthood and other allies of pro-abortion Democrats will be throwing in millions of dollars to protect the status quo of abortion on demand up until birth – at taxpayer expense! – and we must not let them win.â€
The bill would block, for one year, most federal payments to Planned Parenthood. At least 89% of federal funding of Planned Parenthood would be blocked by this bill. The bill would repeal a number of major components of the Obamacare health law, including two of the major provisions that will lead to rationing of lifesaving care — the “Independent Payment Advisory Board†and the “excess benefits tax.â€
Obama is threatening to veto the de-funding measure and the threat comes after President Barack Obama warned pro-life people not to “demonize†Planned Parenthood in the wake of the Colorado shooting.
Obama has repeatedly threatened to veto any bill that stops taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood, issuing a veto threat in September and in July.
In August, Senate Democrats defeated an effort to revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business by filibustering the bill and preventing a vote on it. Republicans were unable to secure the 60 voted needed to invoke cloture and stop debate on the bill, allowing an up or down vote. Republicans could only get 53 votes to shut off debate.
Then, in September, Senate Democrats voted to defeat a government funding bill that would de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business after it was caught in a series of 10 videos selling aborted babies and their body parts. The Senate voted 52 to 47 against ending debate.
Dozens of leading pro-life groups have already indicated their support for the bill, including the National Right to Life Committee. In a letter to members of Congress that NRLC provided to LifeNews.com, the group indicated it strongly supports the bill to de-fund Planned Parenthood.
“NRLC strongly supports the language in the bill that would block, for one year, most federal payments to affiliates of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). It would close the largest pipeline for federal funding of Planned Parenthood, Medicaid, and apply as well to the CHIP and the Title V and Title XX block grant programs, thus covering roughly 89% of all federal funds to Planned Parenthood. The amounts denied to Planned Parenthood in effect are reallocated to community health centers,†the pro-life group explained.
“Over one-third of all abortions in the U.S. are performed at PPFA-affiliated facilities. Longstanding objections to the massive federal funding of PPFA have been reinforced by recent widely publicized undercover videos, which illuminate the callous brutality that occurs daily in these abortion mills,†NRLC added.
The reconciliation bill also repeals portions of Obamacare,including its rationing components. With regard to the rationing aspects of Obamacare, NRLC strongly supports a repeal.
“In addition, NRLC has always opposed the Obamacare law and advocated its repeal. With respect to H.R. 3762, we particularly endorse the components that would repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) and the “excess benefits tax†(“Cadillac Taxâ€), both dangerous mechanisms that would ultimately contribute to the rationing of lifesaving care,†the right to life group said.
Leading pro-life groups that also support the reconciliation bill to de-fund Planned Parenthood include Susan B. Anthony List, National Right to Life, Family Research Council, March for Life, Concerned Women for America, Students for Life, Priests for Life, Operation Rescue, and American Life League, among others.
A new Congressional report finds that de-funding the Planned Parenthood abortion business — even for one year — would save “several thousand†unborn babies from the nightmare of abortion. The report also finds de-funding Planned Parenthood would save the federal government $235 million.
The expose’ videos catching Planned Parenthood officials selling the body parts of aborted babies have shocked the nation. Here is a list of all eleven:
In the first video: Dr. Deborah Nucatola of Planned Parenthood commented on baby-crushing: “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.†In the second video: Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Mary Gatter joked, “I want a Lamborghini†as she negotiated the best price for baby parts. In the third video: Holly O’Donnell, a former Stem Express employee who worked inside a Planned Parenthood clinic, detailed first-hand the unspeakable atrocities and how she fainted in horror over handling baby legs. In the fourth video: Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Savita Ginde stated, “We don’t want to do just a flat-fee (per baby) of like, $200. A per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it.†She also laughed while looking at a plate of fetal kidneys that were “good to go.†In the fifth video: Melissa Farrell of Planned Parenthood-Gulf Coast in Houston boasted of Planned Parenthood’s skill in obtaining “intact fetal cadavers†and how her “research†department “contributes so much to the bottom line of our organization here, you know we’re one of the largest affiliates, our Research Department is the largest in the United States.†In the sixth video: Holly O’Donnell described technicians taking fetal parts without patient consent: “There were times when they would just take what they wanted. And these mothers don’t know. And there’s no way they would know.†In the seventh and perhaps most disturbing video: Holly O’Donnell described the harvesting, or “procurement,†of organs from a nearly intact late-term fetus aborted at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, CA. “‘You want to see something kind of cool,’†O’Donnell says her supervisor asked her. “And she just taps the heart, and it starts beating. And I’m sitting here and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think.†In the eighth video: StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer admits Planned Parenthood sells “a lot of†fully intact aborted babies. The ninth video: catches a Planned Parenthood medical director discussing how the abortion company sells fully intact aborted babies — including one who “just fell out†of the womb. The 10th video: catches the nation’s biggest abortion business selling specific body parts — including the heart, eyes and “gonads†of unborn babies.The video also shows the shocking ways in which Planned Parenthood officials admit that they are breaking federal law by selling aborted baby body parts for profit. Unreleased Videos: Unreleased videos from CMP show Deb Vanderhei of Planned Parenthood caught on tape talking about how Planned Parenthood abortion business affiliates may “want to increase revenue [from selling baby parts] but we can’t stop them…†Another video has a woman talking about the “financial incentives†of selling aborted baby body parts. The 11th video: catches a texas Planned Parenthood abortionist planning to sell the intact heads of aborted babies for research. Amna Dermish is caught on tape describing an illegal partial-birth abortion procedure to terminate living, late-term unborn babies which she hopes will yield intact fetal heads for brain harvesting.
The full, unedited videos have confirmed that revelations that some aborted baby remains sold by Planned Parenthood go to biotech companies for the purpose of creating “humanized†mice. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood has been exposed as having sold body parts from aborted babies for as much as 15 years.
The federal law that technically prohibits the sale of aborted babies and their body parts was written by a pro-abortion Congressman decades ago and essentially spells out a process by which sellers of aborted baby body parts can meet certain criteria that allows the sales to be legal. That’s why a Colorado congressman has introduced legislation to totally ban the sales of aborted baby body parts.
That’s exactly why they won’t do it.
Really, just how utterly stupid do they think we are? Same old crap.
Give Obama everything he asks for and then put on this big and completely dishonest stunt show so they can tell the folks back home “they tried” and now they have the “vote” to prove it. And everyone knows beforehand that this is a meaningless dog and pony show.

To think our government funded an organization that dissects live babies and sells the parts is just amazing to me. Too little because there’s a world of difference between 1) passing a defunding bill that Obama would have to sign for it to take effect, when you know da*n well he won’t sign it, and 2) passing a bill that simply fails to fund PP, but has other things in it (like, um..., the rest of the federal budget) that Obama has real incentive to sign, forcing him to shut down the government if he fails to sign.
Too late because he has no credibility anymore.
Disgusting little men can yet be raised to the victory, if they will listen to what God DOES want.
Obviously, a salvation first, but then... and I am surprised it is not VERY obvious... the name equity issue needs to be addressed if we are going to keep on with the Federal subsidy model. In the longer term the subsidy model can itself be questioned, but the name equity seems to be the core of the current problem, and nobody’s talking about it. I just don’t understand....

It’s like belling the cat. Well maybe some tuna fish would help. If “non abortion PP” as organization really wants the business, it would forfeit being used to glorify the name associated with the abortion part of it. This could be a generic rule, not focused on PP, but focused on publicity for abortion agencies.
