Ted Cruz says he won't use former President Bill Clinton's political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.
"I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo," he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. "Hillary Clintonâs biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster."
New York businessman Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.
"If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the womenâs card on me, sheâs wrong! Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.
Cruz says he won't engage in such attacks.
Instead, he outlined how he would contrast himself with Clinton, should he get the Republican nomination for president.
"Because of the Obama/Clinton economic policies, millions of Americans are hurting," he said. âWe have the lowest percentage of Americans working since 1977."
He added that "the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is terrible because of the strengthening of Iran and the rise of the Islamic State.
"That is a record that is substantially indefensible," he said.

‘Cruz is naive. Naive will lose for the same reason McCain lost. Failure to attack the enemy.’
On the surface, Cruz’s comment regards BillyBoy looks that way. I suspect that Cruz’s long-term game goes something like this:
“I won’t gloss over the last 8 years of wrongdoings... i and my AG will aggressively pursue those who have broken the constitutional laws of this nation...”
or something like that. Otherwise, YES, he better not just expect to win on substance. People are PISSED and want some accountability damit!
I just read this entire thread and I am stunned. Consider for a second that we should all be excited that the two leading candidates heading into the actual votes are both talking conservative, are hated, despised, and feared by the left and the MSM (one and the same), and they are both capable communicators who can hold their own.
Cruz is not perfect. Trump is not perfect. They are far closer to perfection in my eyes than any of our past nominees since Reagan. Based on polling both of them stand a chance of winning against Hillary.
We are in a good place right now with a long way to go - we should be enjoying it. Both of them can and will hold their own in any debates and at this point I could vote for either. I started with Cruz based on his history, but I have truly enjoyed watching the Trump campaign. In the end I am ABH - anybody but Hillary, but I am feeling much better about either of them than I was the last two primaries.
Cruz has adopted one tactic and Trump another. So far it is obvious that Trump’s is working better, but Cruz has acquitted himself far better than I expected with a long way to go and that has impressed me also. You don’t have to dislike one to vote for the other.
Personally, I am smiling and enjoying the race so far because I don’t have to hold my nose yet.
That’s probably a good strategy for him, at least for now, given the way the Dems and their media lackeys try to portray him as mean-spirited and hateful. For the time being, he’s probably better off focusing on his own positives and those of his policies than engaging in personal attacks, which might reinforce the negative perception his opponents want to portray. Besides, Trump seems to be doing a good enough job of discrediting Bill Clinton already.
“Spock where are you when we need you.”
He’s dead, Jim.
Cruz doesn’t have to...that’s what Trumps for....he takes the hits and garners the masses....Cruz has a clear path then.
Bill isn’t the issue — Hillary is. But Bill is ever present, and Bill’s scandals and Hillary’s response to them feed directly into the long-running narrative of Clinton corruption, criminality, secrecy, and hypocrisy.
I agree with Trump’s strategy, attacking Hillary’s silencing of all the victims of Bill.
Amen. And I've enthusiastically supported and donated to Cruz.
Extremely disappointing.
This is only one of the many times lately he's exhibited DC Tin Ear Syndrome.
Pfff.
Good story. Excellent point.
What they don’t understand is that Cruz’s strategy has always been to stay above the fray and keep the focus on the things he brings to the table.
His 2012 Senate opponent ran a very negative race, yet Ted managed to beat him handily.
He’s right; getting sidetracked on some pointless Bill Clinton distraction just isn’t a winning tactic.
These people who are bleating “Cruz just lost my vote” aren’t fooling anyone. They’re looking for any excuse to criticize him. Trying to paint him, of all people, as some kind of Romneyesque wimp is funny...especially when most of them were likely singing his praises a few years ago.
LOL, yeah, the Manhattan penthouse dweller who eats pizza with a fork.
Yet only a year ago you were gushing about him and saying you'd like to vote for him, that you had his back, etc.
Seems to me you'd be surprised.
The same thing he was doing all those years going back to Texas, when your celebrity hero was doing a reality TV show.
Your TDS is festering and looks a little crunchy. Put something on that!
Or for pete’s sake!
I swear you guys on the Cruz side have a smart ass answer for everything.
Like I said, if Cruz manages to slide into the nomination, I will spend the summer just laughing my butt off when this rinky-dunk bravado goes head first into the leftist media machine. In the primaries you guys can jump around and act like some real badasses, but when you find yourselves going against people that don’t give a damn about all the sentimental legend building you’ve been doing about his brilliance and genius, you will be in for a rude awaking.
“LOL, yeah, the Manhattan penthouse dweller who eats pizza with a fork.”
A warrior, yet refined.
We need a champion to crush the Left and expose them for who they really are - liars and hypocrites.

Although again I understand your strong feelings in this, I honestly believe that what we really need is an electorate that is united in their understanding that, without God and HIS ways, we are doomed. I think that Ted Cruz understands this...though neither he nor any other one person will be able to solve our current problems. If we as a people do not turn back to God, who is our true champion, we will simply reap the consequences of our own choices.
Vote wisely ...but pray VERY hard and live virtuously.
I’m for Trump...and Cruz, but see Cruz as Trump’s VP, the only way I see Cruz eventually getting into the WH.
But as you imply, politics is not the ultimate answer for America. Without a return to faith in God and forsaking trust in man and man’s government, such resurgence of political freedom cannot last.
America needs spiritual, individual freedom - a New Reawakening as it were - in the form of trusting the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Only then will America experience LASTING political and economic freedom.
Yeah, that yelling, grudge-nursing, flailing old dude with the combover.
“Warrior”
LOL
