Ted Cruz says Bill Clinton not an issue in presidential race

Ted Cruz says he won't use former President Bill Clinton's political liabilities against Democratic presidential contender and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.

"I am not interested in getting into personal attacks and innuendo," he said Tuesday at a news conference in Cisco. "Hillary Clinton’s biggest liability is that her policies are a disaster."

New York businessman Donald Trump, the frontrunner in the Republican race for president, has used Twitter to black Bill Clinton as abusive to women.

"If Hillary thinks she can unleash her husband, with his terrible record of women abuse, while playing the women’s card on me, she’s wrong! Mr. Trump said Monday via Twitter.

Cruz says he won't engage in such attacks.

Instead, he outlined how he would contrast himself with Clinton, should he get the Republican nomination for president.

"Because of the Obama/Clinton economic policies, millions of Americans are hurting," he said. “We have the lowest percentage of Americans working since 1977."

He added that "the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is terrible because of the strengthening of Iran and the rise of the Islamic State.

"That is a record that is substantially indefensible," he said.

At this particular time, I think it a wise move to pursue the preservation of the Constitution. As Christians stand up and return to seeking God first and look to HIM, restoring the nation to a culture of firm moral and virtuous life WILL take place.

Pray for our country.

Nope.

According to all of his supporters it’s an elaborate Jedi mind trick born of a brilliant maneuver that is to make Hillary cower in fear. And it’s all a reflection of how perfect Cruz’s Christian faith!

Exactly right and what Ted said is very much Bush-like. Bush was beaten to a pulp and never uttered a word in defense.

You don’t take ANYTHING off period, especially when he could have said NOTHING.

Tho isn’t some “spouse” this is the former president that screwed an inter in the oval office, and is a major political operative.

Cruz’s tax plan is going to be destroyed to. 10% on income across the board + a 19% sales tax (plus state sales taxes extant)

A huge tax increase on seniors and will destroy any small business that doesn’t have a captive market.

Cruz is non viable in a general election.

Amen, Tex. The media will do everything to make Willy
the focus of this sideshow and thus make it old news.
The issue is Hillary’s participation in bimbo eruption
cover up. Letting the other side frame the discussion
just kicks our asses......again.

So we have to parse his statements to look for son mythical brilliant plan?

“Point is.. he can destroy her on the subject without even bringing up Bubba’s name. “

Yeah, ok. Cruz people need to stop living in this absurd political kindergarten. He is not going to”destroy” her with some cutesy quip.

You say: "That's a propaganda photo. She never smiled at trump like that

Another deep denial re anything negative on Trump.

How's THIS smile, as honored guest at the wedding?

I can imagine the field day Trumpers would be having if that were Cruz at the wedding - Trumpers are like Hitlery supporters - matters not what he does/says.

By telegraphing to Hillary that the “war on women” trope is cool to trot out because Bill’s past is OFF THE TABLE?!?

******************
It is not OFF THE TABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Trump has just raised it-— it’s on the table! In a big way!

In this case, Trump is doing Cruz’s dirty work, and Cruz gets the benefit of weakening Hillary, while staying above the fray.

Smart politics-— how can you not see the most elemental political tactics?

The fact that Bill Clinton might be in the White House again IS an issue, Ted.

Then I guess McCain was freaking Yoda when he took everything off the table.

The comparison is patently dishonest. Cruz fights for what he believes and is not afraid to name the names of the traitors in our midst. McCain ran to lose, Palin was a mistake for him, he runs to the left at every turn, he lives across the isle and BTW - hates Ted.

At less that guy Is willing to go after these two for their sleaze and not tell them that he will ignore a major point that is key in blunt in one of Hillary’s largest weapons.

But you have an ok photograph...so that totally counters that. /s

That’s the beauty of the SuperPac design...the Pac puts out the lies, then the candidate can disavow any ties to the SuperPac, but the damage is still done. Rubio has been doing this to Cruz in recent weeks over immigration. Kid Rubio has claimed ignorance, but has not disavowed the dishonest ads! Scumbag...

In the same way, a SuperPac can put out all the historical and truthful scandals about the Hildabeast and Bubba the horn dog to educate the Millennial crowd and remind older voters about the Clinton sordid past. Then, the candidate can say he/she never approved or coordinated in any way with the advertiser.

“Ouch, you better put some ice on that Hillary’!

From my viewpoint, Trump is already putting out the disgusting Clinton trash now directly for all to see. However, in this case Bill’s mistreatment of women and Hildy’s enabling of this behavior are the truth. Trump gets an ‘A’ for being brutally honest and an ‘F’ for political mudslinging! The voters will be the judge!

I really doubt that Cruz will stoop to the Trump or Rubio level. But, be assured that Hildy’s SuperPac will “independently” savage Cruz, Trump, or whoever wins the Pubbie nomination...you can bank on it!

Ted will lose support over this. He probably thinks it will help him in Iowa. I think he just lost Iowa. People want someone who’s ready and willing to break down the doors. Taking Bill off the table doesn’t project strength.

He is taking a serious weapon off the table.

BS an excuse all you want, but in past elections we used to complain when candidates would say stuff like this. But Cruz doing it I really just a cool trick he’s playing....or some such nonsense.

In 2008 Trump thought Clinton’s molestation of women in the oval office and rape was “unimportant.” Now he thinks it’s very important.
