Washington (CNN)-After repeatedly boasting that he has spent very little on his campaign so far, Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he will begin spending money in early primary and caucus states.
"My campaign for president is $35,000,000 under budget, I have spent very little (and am in 1st place). Now I will spend big in Iowa/N.H./S.C.," Trump tweeted.

While there undoubtedly will be some slick TV ads, I expect Trump to catch the competition flat-footed here by using that money in some very unorthodox get-out-the-vote methods. For example, fleets of buses providing free transportation to and from caucus venues. Free babysitting services for those caucus goers with young children, etc. Who says "spending" has to be ad buys?
Trump crushed Bush with his free Twitter account.
I’m guessing he is looking to finish off Rubio and Carson
with his ad campaign.
I think you’ve pretty much touched on a good point. Unconventional is the key word for Trump.
Those who think this guy is not focused on Iowa and every other state are in for a rude awakening.
Soon they’ll be saying Trump bought the election.
As we’ve seen, they’ll say most anything. Sad really...
I don’t see anyone complaining that Cruz is outspending Trump by a very wide margin right now.
God Bless Trump...
Trump needs to hit the airwaves hard with his straight talk. He owns this political seasonâs narrative and more people need to adopt his soundbites as their own rational thought. Thatâs just how it works, sadly.
I agree with your post 16 but I also believe that the time is fast approaching when he also must spend.
