Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is defending an ad critical of 2016 GOP rival Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) comments on same-sex marriage.
On "Fox News Sunday," the former Arkansas governor was asked whether the pro-Huckabee ad's editing was selective.
"No, not at all," Huckabee said. "And there's nothing selective, there was nothing deceptive. The point is that in Iowa he's made a major point, and he's pitched to evangelicals as a person who is utterly authentic, he's going to fight for religious liberty, he's going to protect the right of people to disagree with decisions on same-sex marriage. But that's not what you heard in that Manhattan fundraiser and that's the only thing that I have pointed out."
A super PAC called Pursuing America's Greatness recently produced the ad in Iowa, which includes audio of an exchange between Cruz and an unidentified person at a New York fundraiser. The man asks Cruz whether he views his opposition to marriage rights for same-sex couples as a "top-three priority." In the ad, Cruz is heard simply replying, "No."
But the ad drew criticism from The Washington Post, which pointed out that Cruz's comments were longer.
"No, I would say defending the Constitution is a top priority," he said in the audio, obtained by Politico and recorded at a fundraiser in New York. "And that cuts across the whole spectrum -- whether it's defending the First Amendment, defending religious liberty, stopping courts from making public policy issues that are left to the people. And I also think the 10th Amendment to the Constitution cuts across a lot of issues."

Once again Huckabee plays the establishment hitman. A few years ago it was his mission to take down Romney and protect McCain, so he stayed in far longer than he should’ve. Now his marching orders are to take Cruz down to assist Rubio/Bush/whoever.
The Huckster making use of the tie he sometimes wears to hang himself - if he thinks that homosexuals getting “married” is a top 3 item, then he’s way out of touch.
Cruz is right again. America has far deeper problems than whether two homos pretend to get married. Let’s fix the economy, fix the borders and the threat of militant Islam first because they are major threats to our sovereignty.
AFTER that’s done, we can turn our attention to social issues like abortion and gay marriage, not that you don’t make strides when you can and a Cruz presidency with GOP majorities in both houses would open the door for a lot of progress in many directions.
He knows the Supreme Court has already nullified any rights that States may have to make laws governing homosexual marriages. Perhaps it’s because Cruz is speaking in front of a homosexual group.

1) The Constitution has no language addressing marriage.
2) SCOTUS exists to rule on whether laws do or do not comply with the Constitution.
3) SCOTUS can not create laws.
4) The 10th Amendment gives to the States all rights not specifically given to the Federal gov’t. by the Constitution.
Thus, the marriage issue is a States’ Right to determine. A couple of years ago a lesbian couple filed for divorce in TX and they were denied. They had married in some leftist State but Texas didn’t legally recognize the marriage of the couple. .....Don’t know if that position has changed or not.
Also, it was not a “homosexual group”, but one homo person of the group that asked Cruz the question.
And looky here Entropy12, just like clockwork we got BFAC (Trumpster) posting a Huckabee hit piece on Cruz in an attempt to smear Cruz.

BFAC is a patriot and served honorably for many years, which I am certain is lot more than you are capable of doing. BFAC is simply posting what is out there in news articles.
You Cruz supporters are turning vicious and maniacal against posters like BFAC who never post rude comments to Cruz supporters. I guess some people have class and others have no clue what class is.
But do not worry, Cruz has excellent chance of winning at least 1 state, the same one president Santorum and president Huckabee won in last 2 election cycles.
