To be honest, if these were the only issues under discussion in this GOP presidential primary season I would hardly be able to make myself pay attention. It's not that they are unimportant issues. Personally, I support every one of them. But they are not existential issues.

As Trump makes clear, our country's representatives have no clue. Worse, they seem content to remain in ignorance no matter how many Americans die, no matter how far sharia spreads. Not Trump. When you think about it, his call for a Muslim immigration moratorium is really a no-brainer - but whose "politically correct" brain is capable even of thinking of it, let alone calling for it out loud? I regret to say that Sen. Cruz does not support Trump's moratorium, deferring instead to a rosier vision of Islam and immigration screening both in order, politely, to reject it.
That's too bad, but so it goes, further testament to the fearless, agenda-setting powers of Trump. It's really quite incredible: soon, maybe even before it's too late, GOP primary voters will have a clear choice on walls, borders, immigration, even Islamic immigration (and, I would hope, the related issue of Islamic law), all because Donald Trump plucked these crucial issues from the void where the politicians, including good conservatives, have been eager to leave them.

How does that work anyway? They voted to let Obama have authority over what is clearly a treaty, so they can reverse it later, rather than exercise the Senate's authority, because he called it something different?
Why not leave it alone if it's not really a treaty, or kill it if it is?

That is exactly right, and it's why I'm for him too. Sometimes the most critically important issue drowns out everything else. This is one of those times.

I see that also, in my heart of hearts.
I watched him on his video, on H1, and heard what he said and how he covered that bright idea of his (to triple foreign workers from 65 to 325 thousand), to say it was all, “strategery”.
He is from TEXAS. In past decades, the US dropped border protection and now second generation Mexicans are acclimated here, with many have grandkids who have never been to Mexico. TEXAS provided leniency and these families paid in-state tuition.
But, this is not yesterday. The times and culture has changed. The influx is unbearable and there is an Obama swarm allowed of Mexicans and South Americans from socialist countries.
Cruz can not sit back and treat this new reality with yesterday’s leniency. On that point, I see the Chamber of Commerce attitude emerge and I don’t appreciate it.

This is a time for declarative statements, not weasel words for every political thought.
