How to Ban Guns: A step by step, long term process [The Bloody obvious stated in gun grabber plan]
12/24/2015 | Vanity of sorts

In the extensive research on what the national socialist left has recently said about gun confiscation, banning guns or repealing the second amendment, I came across several fevered screeds from our comrades over at the Dailykos:

In the first article they state what should bloody obvious to everyone in outlining their plans to Confiscate Guns:
How to Ban Guns: A step by step, long term process

This is just an short excerpt of the article, but it should be enough to confirm what we have known to be the case all along:

The very first thing we need is national registry. We need to know where the guns are, and who has them We need to make this as easy as possible for gun owners.

Along with this, make private sales illegal. When a firearm is transferred, make it law that the registration must be updated
Additionally, new guns are to be registered by the manufacturer.

We want to encourage as much voluntary compliance as possible.

Now we get down to it. The registration period has passed. Now we have criminals without registered guns running around. Probably kooky types that 'lost' them on a boat or something. So remember those ATF form 4473s? Those record every firearm sale, going back twenty years.

So, we get those logbooks, and cross reference the names and addresses with the new national registry

Now, maybe he sold them or they got lost or something. But it gives us a good target for investigation. A nice visit by the ATF or state police to find out if he really does still have those guns would be certainly warranted. This exercise isn't so much to track down every gun ever sold; the main idea would be to profile and investigate people that may not have registered their guns.

I'm concerned that other guy who bought a half dozen assault weapons, registered two hunting rifles, and belongs to the NRA/GOA. He's the guy who warrants a raid.

So registration is the first step. Now that the vast majority are registered, we can do what we will. One good first step would be to close the registry to new registrations.

We should also insist on comprehensive insurance and mandatory gun safes, subject to random, spot checks by local and federal law enforcement.

Finally there is another screed that was spewed forth only recently laying out the authors fevered imagination on how 'A National Semi-Auto Ban' would take place:

Effective Gun Control - A National Semi-Auto Ban
Monday Oct 05, 2015 Dailykos
Alternative Link to the article:

This textual diarrhea of the mind virtually lays out a similar plan as outlined above and semi-worthwhile reading if one wants to peek inside the mind of a totalitarian leftist (sorry to be redundant there). If someone wants to they can read an excerpt it as well, you'll be a better (Wo)man than me for the effort.

The bottom line here is that we have already have proof of what should be obvious from the start:

That Registration and the control over your private property is merely a stepping stone to the government's stealing of that property.

Where are the hackers when you need them? A good one would put their damn websites down and “dead” forever. Just because I previously MAY have registered a firearm does not mean I still have that particular item or any others. A federal website needs to be destroyed as well. It is our right to keep and bare arms and unless the asshats destroy our constitution, that right will remain. Didn’t shakespeare say “kill all the politicians”? NO, wait, that was all the lawyers. Phew, almost made a mistake.

I’m theorizing that this is why they are losing their ‘collective’ minds over the issue and forgetting the steps outlined in that piece and calling for direct confiscation.

People are certainly NOT going to register their guns if only later to Confiscated.

On top of this we have the increasing threat from Islamic Violence (yes, I said it out loud - that makes much more sense than calling it inanimate object violence)

It should be clear that the national socialist don’t care about the people’s security - and it’s almost like they want to make it safer for jihad..

Yes, like socialists of the past, they can’t very well oppress the people and take their property if they don’t have a monopoly on the use of force.

Nothing more than a totalitarian’s wet dream. If the shooting starts, it is only fitting that the people advocating gun control be its first victims.

People are certainly NOT going to register their guns if only later to Confiscated.

Massive non-compliance with CT and NY's recent set of gun registration laws (NY tired to hide its non-compliance numbers and they were only released via court order) shows that the first step in this simply isn't going to happen. Its a Leftard fantasy.

The follow-on steps of finding the guns through other means and then using law enforcement to go after them are even more of a Leftard fantasy. How many gun store owners will just burn their records? How many local and state police will politely "decline" to go after civilly disobedient but otherwise law-abiding gun owners? In fact, throwing local, state and Federal law enforcement together in a concerted effort where ALL officers decide to take part STILL doesn't provide a FRACTION of the manpower necessary to effect these plans in a nation of 120 million gun owners and close to 400 million guns.

So then what? Call up the National Guard? Suspend Posse Commitatus and employ the active-duty military? Yeah, just watch what happens then - the results the Leftards get will most likely NOT be what they were looking for.

Thank you for posting that.

I’m amazed that the gun grabbers still lie about their true intentions.

The point the author was making was that they wanted to sucker people into registering their guns with the promise that it wouldn’t lead to confiscation - which ultimately what they are calling for.

It’s worth noting that mandatory gun registration didn’t even work in a leftist country with a culturally passive mindset like Canada. Their national gun registry was such a failure that it eventually became a joke and was abandoned.

People need to point out the myriad times the left has called for confiscation over the past few years in response to the gun control psuh.

“Clearly gun control does not work.... Just like Socialism”

You are so wrong. Gun control AND socialism are extremely effective... to bring about a totalitarian state, the real objective.

Pretty close.

The way to really turn the screws is to simply make it MORE AND MORE EXPENSIVE (in more ways than one) to own guns and profitable to get rid of them. Here are a few steps in that direction:

1) Locks to prevent kids from using them
2) Separate ammo from weapons, and store it locked up also
3) Gun safes that cost maybe $500, or more
4) Insurance (as stated in the article)
5) Ending the Castle Doctrine and again exposing owners to liability if they use their guns in self-defense
6) Madatory licensing of gun owners, along with required range time on a regular basis
7) Expanding the list of what qualifies as a ban on ownership
8) Show trials for a handful of people for ‘technical violations’ of the new laws (such as not making it to range in 7 months, given a 6 month requirement). Then making sure that the person is JAILED for some amount of time, with their prior life TOTALLY RUINED because of their ‘violation’.
9) Require ‘Smart Gun’ technology. Require tracking of ammo. Prohibit ownership of untraceable ammo after a certain grace period.

Bottom line of the above is to convince people that gun ownership is simply NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.

Then the CARROTS. Pay owners a sizable amount of money (maybe $300-$500 for a handgun) to turn-in their weapons if they agree to never own a gun again. Make it worth their while.

The numbers of owners then decline, and along with that, the political strength of gun owners.

Then GO FOR THE KILL, which is to prohibit private ownership unless an immediate need can be PROVEN. Then it’s game over for gun owners.

That’s the complete plan - and as it progresses (and the number of gun owners decline) it gets HARDER AND HARDER to stop it. That’s why gun owners sometimes seem ‘unreasonable’ when they oppose so-called ‘common-sense gun control’.

I stand corrected - yes the organized evil of Socialism is extremely effective in bringing about suppression of the people and setting up the elite in luxury and unlimited power.

Yes, the left has made it clear they will do ‘whatever it takes’ to deprive people of their natural and civil rights.. and they have no problem with outright lying about it in the furtherance of their goals.

Worked like a charm for Hitler. Of course, the German people were inclined to be unquestioning in such matters. Most Americans would not be so cheerfully obedient to the government's orders.

However most states (with exception of a few notables) are easing restrictions and local law enforcement, especially county sheriffs, are openly requesting concealed carry permit holders to carry and openly stating they will ignore any federal firearm legislation that they deem unconstitutional. Between this and the spike in firearm sales during Obama’s presidency, they have created quite the conundrum.
