OK guys--I said it looks like a hair ornament. I understand that 8.5 kg is way too heavy to wear it in your hair.

I like this idea, but why make a honey dipper out of gold? That’s a very expensive honey dipper.

For neatness sake, before writing on clay or wax tablets, a ruler pattern could be pressed into the surface, then the lettering could remain true to ‘between the lines’ ... always read between the lines is a very old saying.

No no, it’s just big and heavy enough, and ergonomically designed, to thump a terrorist over the head with. Thus, the Isis Beamer.

Yes, definitely a massager, but probably given the size and weight for the back and perhaps thighs and calves.

Those edges look to sharp for a massage thing. Whatever it is, it is beautiful. Gold sure stands the test of time. And amazing the symmetry and the sharpness of the edges and perfect lengths of the grooves. I guess it must have been machined on some type of ancient lathe?? It wasn’t just some guy whittling away at it while waiting for dinner.

Very interesting object. If it's a tool maybe for rolling dough or pasta into strips?
