On Tuesday, the Superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District announced that all schools would be shut down today due to an unspecified terror threat. According to ABC News, that threat also carries âunknown credibility.â Bus drivers say they have been returned to their bus depots. LAUSD is the nationâs second-largest school district, with 640,000 students and 900 schools; children range from kindergarten to 12th grade.

I hate that - the rush to be first to report and the incorrect/changing information.
I listened to the Superintendent of the LA Schools, so “presumably” he knows what he’s talking about given he made the decision to close the schools.
It’s serious when we hear DHS / FBI talking about it at the press conference. Haven’t seen that yet but it’s still early.

Yeah, that means hundreds of thousands won’t be going to work in Los Angeles today.
Terrorist bomb threat.
My take....
....an alert person came across info.......perhaps something was decoded from the San Bernadino hard drive.....and just put the pieces together...
...and would rather err on the side of caution
Terrorists don’t advertise their next step
I think they have been found out in the nick of time
What a disaster....
Those in the School district are in total chaos.
Electronic threat was made specifically to LAUSD ‘students at school,’ mentioned backpacks and other objects - @abc7
“People who think this is a joke need to wonder if they’d want their own children or grandchildren at risk.”
I understand that thinking completely. There is plenty of time to joking later if this proves to be a false alarm.
Your post about the cell phone data makes me wonder — not crying wolf this time?
If this was sourced from a jihadi, Donald Trump won the election TODAY. Tonights debate should be a doozy...maybe CNN started a rumor?
I saw that and laughed.
No problem.
LA probably has dozens of Hispanic tv and radio stations.
Most illegals don’t watch Faux.
You can bet the rent, this is no teenage prank.
We’re talking the biggest school district in the country...
This will shut down the city.
Single Mom’s probably make half the parents.
Even ‘celebrities’ will be impacted.....they have kids too!
Sounds like a probe to test/monitor responses....
Hey liberals, do you feel safer with your King Hussein?
You’re right - we should just ban terror and terror threats. Then we’d never have any!
‘If this was sourced from a jihadi, Donald Trump won the election TODAY.’
I too made a political remark on this thread today and wish I hadn’t:
‘The San Bernardino terrorist knew the insides of many high schools and had pictures of them and the exteriors on his cell phone.’ â ladyjane
Sometimes politics should take a back seat.
Prayers up!
For you, fine.
For your grade school children? when, say, police are observing known coordinated terrorist affiliates arming up and rolling out with floorplans to numerous local schools, and they’re not sure they’ve identified all participants & targets?
There’s living with risk, then there’s ignoring an impending bloodbath.
You're right, that's exactly what I meant. I seriously doubt anyone is afraid and a free day off just makes a teen excited about life. I know it would have for me. I miss those days.
Now maybe the fact that my wife and have 8 kids would make one suspect that I just go there a lot, so to speak.
I notified our relatives with school age kids, several hundred miles from LA.
If I was a parent of any school age child in California, they would go in late if at all.
