Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trump’s attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a ‘maniac’ given the way he’s dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, I’ve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think he’s tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.
At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions — and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.
This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I don’t believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

One of the key phrases in Ted’s plan for a wall is this, “...would complete the wall.”

I would think that Trump could alienate the votors he needs such as so called evangelicals by dumping on Cruz. And Cruz is already getting slimed by the press. And CNN announced today that Cruz is stealing Trump votes! Is he a thief too?

We’re ready for action...we’re ready for the Trump Wall and the Trump DEPORTATION plan.

You can start with his 2001 book, The America We Deserve; then Time to Get Tough 2011 and finish with Crippled America out this year. You will find he has had consistently conservative beliefs.

This is going to be a rude awakening for those who think only moderate Republicans support Trump.

Right next to it is the Tea Party vote, self professed strong Tea Party and Soft Tea Party. Yikes.

Cruz: 29 - 12
Trump's biggest support groups are the ones that are dead center of what this forum is supposed to stand for, Conservatives and like-minded Tea Party members.
I wish the Cruz folks could come to terms with that.

The man has been as specific as a grain of sand in a sand storm....lots of big bloviating rhetoric, no specifics...and certainly no specifics that have ANY chance of passing Congress. Or are you just counting on executive orders or his sparkling, charming New York personality (read: pompous jackass) to win the issue?

Yup. That is a very interesting chart.
Trump can and has moved the needle on issues. As much as I loathe him, I give immense credit on that. The problem is as soon as he faces any opposition on that needle movement, he will either lash out like a two year old or he will fold like a cheap suit because he does not have the courage of his convictions. If he did he wouldn’t have needed to change political parties like I change underwear. He goes whichever way the wind is blowing.

Do you suppose if Cruz can’t handle Trump’s comments, he would be able to handle whatever the GOPe and the media throw at, supposing he actually got the nomination?
If he and his supporters can’t handle it now, later they will all go mad.

So when Reagan preached smaller government, fiscal conservancy, government out of control, a stronger military, and on and on, it wasn’t remotely Conservative?

These and other Conservative policies are what Trump is hawking. Trump is actually going to address illegal aliens in a big way too. That’s something Reagan didn’t address properly, not that he could have done better with the Congress he had.
You really need to think over some of this stuff before you post it. It’s just silly.
Thank you for not addressing me calling you out for one of your earlier posts. You criticized Cruz for lack of specificity...when trump is woefully inadequate there.
Regarding your most recent post, I have not conversed one way or the other about where trump is getting his support. To be honest, I don’t care. I just want his side show stopped, just like I want all liberals stopped.

Trump is advocating the Reagan platform plus, so that pretty much puts you on the record of not liking anything Reagan advocated.
