Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trump’s attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a ‘maniac’ given the way he’s dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, I’ve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think he’s tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.
At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions — and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.
This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I don’t believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

I think his strategy is to win Iowa first. He has the money and the organization to exploit that win to the max. trump has been so boastful that the loss in Iowa will create a media firestorm that will be impossible for him to control. And he will personally be sent reeling.
Sen. Cruz can then continue his very positive campaign and not have to attack anyone, including trump.
What do you really think Trump will compromise on? Trump has a plan, if he thinks a wall is what is needed then I’m confident he will bully the Democrats and the Republicans into it. He “Works” with people all the time but in a way that benefits him. He’ll work with the Democrats and the Republicans but that doesn’t at all mean they’ll get the better of him. They won’t

On that I disagree with you. Trump has proven to do what others have not been able to do, make an issue out of things that the media, the Republicans and the Democrats don’t want to be an issue, namely, immigration. No one wants to be talking about it but Trump made it happen. No one wants to be talking about the true nature of Muslims and Islam but with his bold declaration about banning Muslims (something no one else dare say) he is forcing the issue. Having your own money lends you the ability to be bolder than those who have to beg and I think at this point its proven that Trump can move the needle on issues
This is a FAR DIFFERENT country and culture than when Reagan ran for office!!! Reagan was also a HUGE cheer leader, Cruz is no cheerleader, smart as a whip yes, VERY conservative yes, but will he win over LIV’S I don’t think so!!!!

Not if it doesn’t favor him. Trump has put his name and reputation on building the wall. If Shummer is able to best him and he can’t get it done the TRUMP name is hammered and he won’t compromise on his brand. You should be greatful that on one of the more important issues, building a wall and stopping the flow of illegal immigration, your views probably fit with Trumps and because of that you’ll have a fighter on that issue. I am not arguing that Trump will always make the best conservative deal but only because he may not share that belief. it won’t be because some financier bullied him. For me a Trump presidency represents the breaking of two walls (Political Correctness and the Media) and the building of one. Nothing more nothing less. I don’t expect him to do what I would do with abortion, gay marriage or even education but if he knocks down the right walls then a real conservative will work within a framework where conservatism can actually be promoted in a more true form. In short, Trump isn’t the enemy though no the “perfect conservative” that some may want
Once again, Cruz is going to give them green cards, so don’t worry yourself sick over it.
If Ted should pull off a miracle, you’re worries will be over.
First, Ted’s going to secure that border just like Bush, McCain, Kennedy, and others have promised to do.
