Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trumpâs attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a âmaniacâ given the way heâs dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, Iâve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think heâs tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.
At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions â and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.
This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I donât believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

Thank you. Excellent analysis.
Let*s just get Cruz elected so he can do the things we know he will.
Excessive talk about those issues just makes the election tougher.
We have to give our guy the slack it takes to get elected.
Cruz has opposed subsidies for corporations. That’s anything but crony capitalism. Trump supports subsidies for those he likes. That’s progressivism.
âWe stopped the Gang of Eight bill. Ted Cruz led the fight against the establishment. We would be living under amnesty right now if Cruz had not succeeded.â â Rush Limbaugh
It wouldn't surprise me to find out they are working in tandem, but you could be right too.
I do know they are dealing a blow to the ones who said they would go fight for us after we put them in office (Tea Party) and then stabbed us in the back.
So, as far as I am concerned, whether they are team or not is irrelevant, what they are accomplishing is what matters in my view.
I'll vote for either one after the dust settles....but the establishment can KMA.
Yeah ... on another thread it’s “only Cruz can beat Hillary” ...
How is that? When you deny subsidies, you let the market decide. Period.

How wrong you are. You really don’t know it either. Wow.
In 2013 the Cruz immigration plan was McCain/Kennedy 2007 or the Gang of 8 plan.
The only difference? Cruz wanted to block a path to citizenship.
How many minutes do you think the Cruz plan would have been in effect before the SCOTUS with the help of the ACLU, La Raza, MALDEF, MEChA, and a host of other advocacy groups having claimed this was a racist bill, before a block to path to citizenship would have been nullified?
Cruz knew that.
.
DoughtyOne is one of those people Reagan talked about all the time.
He *knows* things that absolutely are not so.
.
LOL, you are a hoot.
Cruz supported a ban on immigration from over 30 Muslim countries where jihadism is strong. He was one of only 2 Senators to do so.
How many votes do you think Trump’s Muslim ban would get?
I await the Trumpkins explaining why that’s not conservative.
Cruz is going to have a busy first day in office.
The political strategy used by Cruz is not relevant. The end result is what is relevant. Political strategies used to defeat bills are dependent on the conditions, (which in this case are fellow senators).
The MSM and the Democrats often use these same tactics that you are using to besmirch good Conservative men and women. You said ted was in favor of Amnesty only 2 years ago....
I am here to destroy that lie.
Cruz is co-sponsoring legislation to suspend all H-1B visas.
They already have....
They claim it’s a flipflop.....lol
Well, he was a big Hillary donor -- and many other Dhimmicraps as well.
You've maybe no idea about how people obtain knowledge....despite their deficiencies.
I find it...odd, a person called conservative98...would post what you did.
But, hey it's FR...and it's the internet.
Fair enough..........
