Rush Limbaugh said today on his radio show that Donald Trumpâs attack on Ted Cruz over the weekend, calling him a âmaniacâ given the way heâs dealt with McConnell and others in the Senate, is not an attack a genuine conservative would make and it has raised a red flag for him: While I would certainly vote for Trump if he were the nominee, Iâve never thought he was a genuine conservative. But I do think heâs tried in some ways to bridge his positions with conservatism and I think he generally leans in that direction.
At the end of the day though, if he becomes president, I expect a lot of compromise with Congress, especially on his more conservative positions â and I know that going into the voting booth. If you expect something different you might be in for a big surprise.
This is also why I support Ted Cruz. I do expect him to compromise with Congress as well, as he has said as much, but I donât believe he will go so far as to compromise his principles.

He might want to bring those long ago positions to the forefront. And forget about nuance if he wants to compete with the maniacal Trump who is single-handedly with no net and no big donors running away with the show.
Of course that' what it means.
Sorry about the font issues....I cannot see a way to avoid them...
I absolutely do. The GOP-e would not allow it to become a major issue, as they have NO intention of repealing it. All the more reason we need a consistent conservative in teh White House, not someone who boasts about making deals.
I did not like what he implied in supporting systematic reverse discrimination (affirmative action) in the way he slapped at Scalia.
There’s a lot to say about Cruz. Calling him a maniac for standing up against McConnell is not one of them.
This week Trump sounds like a rich, out of touch, liberal from NY.
The Trump folks on this site seem to be surprised Cruz supporters don’t worship Trump like they do and they are livid over it.
And it’s just getting started.
There is a really good graphic here — and maybe an ad.
Right — Rush Limbaugh is GOPe. Sure.
This is the blindness of the Trumpkins.
By nuance I mean that he did not issue a 4-6 word sound bite and then refrain from explaining just how he planned to accomplish the goal.
I did not mean to say that he was avoiding these issues....he has always jumped right into the middle of them.
.
Rush nails it!
I hope this doesn*t cost him his radio show. Rush is expected as a high paid member of the MSM to puff Trump, and keep him visible.
Go, Cruz, GO! Now be BOLD about it! Call for an immediate moratorium on Muslim immigration! And to deport all illegal aliens!
Reagan couldn't get elected either.
According to the most recent poll I saw, the only Republican who trailed Hillary was...
Donald Trump!
.
You’re in deep denial.
Rush had been hoping that Trump would eventually fade quietly away.
He thought that he knew Trump, and now he knows a different Trump.
.
Insult aside, your one ignorant fool aren’t you.
Rush knew damn well how this would be used, and if you can’t grasp that my statement above falls short of the mark.
Just like the ethanol subsidies in Iowa. Cruz has said he will not pander...and he knows that full deportation has no chance.
Read post 180 and tell me that is not a perfect marriage of both what we want and what can actually be accomplished.
.
You don*t think at all.
Voters like you are why we are in this bucket of dog poop.
And yet, you don’t know of a single thing Cruz has done wrong.
Approach someone else that doesn’t see you for what your pulling.
I haven’t studied the Scalia comments yet, so I won’t address them.
Two years ago Cruz was for making every one of those people Trump talked to, LEGAL!
