Donald Trump's call on Monday for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" is unlikely to blow up his campaign. No matter how outrageous his statement seems to most Americans, his supporters apparently eat up stuff like that.
Forty-six percent of Mr. Trump's backers say that their minds are made up and won't change before the primaries, according to a Dec. 2 Quinnipiac poll. Only 33% of Ted Cruz's supporters, and 23% of Marco Rubio's, say that they are sure of their choice.
Apparently no matter what Mr. Trump does, he continues to poll generally in the mid- to high-20s, with an occasional survey putting him in the 30s. In mid-August he dipped to 22% in the Real Clear Politics average, but he hasn't fallen below that mark since. This high floor, however, is matched by a low ceiling.
His antics-calling his GOP competitors "losers" and "clowns," insulting Sen. John McCain for having been captured in Vietnam, mocking a reporter with a disability, crudely attacking Fox News's Megyn Kelly-have made it difficult for him to grow his base.

Agreed.
Rove is the dream campaign manager for the Dems.
Merry Christmas
Rove is the star salesman for oil lamps after electricity was invented. He still believes he has the best product despite clear evidence that the light bulb makes him irrelevant.
What do you expect?
The Wall Street Journal used to be a great paper.
Once that idiot Rupert Murdoch bought the WSJ, it went downhill fast.
Murdoch the Jebbie supporter. WSJ = GOPe to the hilt.
If they offered me that rag for free I would tell them to keep it.
LOL, I think this is funny. If the RNC pushes Bush or Rubio on the voters Hillary wins. Its just that simple.
OTOH the dems are in the same boat. Most libs want Sanders but admit hes unelectable. Hillary is electable but no one wants to vote for her.
This could be quite a show before its over. In the mean time I wonder if Chairman O has something up his sleeve which would make election results irrelevant.
I thought this was a serious article. Then I read who the author was.
In advertising (as in politics), its the power of suggestion that gets the attention.
Karl, ol' buddy, ol' pal, you've saved me bundles of donation dollars since 2008, money that would have been wasted, too, no doubt about it.
Please, please, please, keep on reminding me why I'm not a Republican---It's working!!!
Thanks again, bud! You're the best!
Having Hitlary as POTUS is no “dream”, its a nightmare.
It’s the media and the politicians against Trump.
The people have his back i.e., the voters.
Another establishment money man sh**ing his pants because the gravy train is about to run out.
“His antics-calling his GOP competitors “losers” and “clowns,””
Someone needs to let Karl know that they aren’t “antics!”
This WSJ piece could have been written by the Hillary! campaign.
The current meme (political pundits like Rove, Sabato, eneMedia, GOPe types) is that Trump is “unelectable”. Right. Trump was also going to collapse and be out of the race how many months ago? These idiots are underestimating the anger of ‘Republlicans’ & the citizenry of America (that which isn’t infected with the mental illness of Liberalism), at their peril. It’s been a long time since we have had someone we can vote FOR instead of going to the polls to cast a GOPe vote against an Obama, BJ Clinton, etc. Putting up a Jeb! or Rubio as a vote against Clinton will fail, as did Romney & McCain (despite Sarah). A vote FOR Trump is the Republicans best chance to win (IMO, my 2 cents & all the usual disclaimers). I like Cruz a lot & will vote for him, but I honestly don’t think he can pull off the nomination. Trump/Cruz would be a terrific ticket & I think the Bloody B!tch of Benghazi would be sent home to her booze bottle.
I’m not going to waste my time reading the whole article, but I am sure he doesn’t even address the fact that Trump has unusual appeal among Dems and Ind in the Dem strongholds on the coasts. He also has high (for a Rep) among black Americans.
Weak Karl. You’re still a loser.
Until that Dream Nominee is elected! Then their Nightmare begins! And the world is saved from them.
Just because someone is not necessarily a good person does not make it smart to mock him with spastic body motions.
