With the country, and now, slowly parts of the rest of the world, in a state of outrage over presidential candidate Donald Trump’s controversial statement to cut off immigration and visits by foreign Muslims to the U.S., it is worth noting that Trump is not the first major figure to suggest that a certain class of humans be barred from entry into a country.
Of the following examples, however, there are two significant differences between Trump’s call and that of all the others. See if you can come up with the two differences by the end of this article.
First, what did Trump actually call for? Did he, as some claim, call for all Muslim Americans to leave? No. What he did call for was a halt to Muslim immigration and tourists into the U.S.
TRUMP CALLS FOR A BAN
“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on,†a campaign press release said.
The ban Trump is seeking is based on what he called “the hatred [which] is beyond comprehension.†It is his view that his proposed ban should remain in place “until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.â€

Lol. Israel has a de facto ban on Muslim immigration and makes it exceedingly difficult for any non-Jew to immigrate there. And if you’re a citizen of any of the many “enemy states,” you can’t even enter, even if you’ve got an Israeli husband or wife. They even do genetic testing of people trying to enter under the Law of Return.

He probably should have been. I have a friend who loathes Trump and who was pleased that Merkel was chosen for Time Person Of the Year instead of Trump. She obviously attached an element of prestige to being chosen. As I recall, Adolf Hitler was once the choice for the Time cover

1. Trump better know that the entire trifecta of Media, the GOPe and the Democrat Political Machine are all looking for ways to destroy and discredit him. It will now be a combined approach, and every single available thing that Trump has done will be rechecked many times over as they try to look for something - anything - that can hurt him. I wouldn't be surprised if there are even cash awards available for anyone (eg a woman from the past) who can come up with something 'nasty.'
2. While I support Cruz, I am believing more and more that Trump is the only person that can defeat Clinton in the General. Yes, I know that some here think Clinton will be in jail (she'll not), that Sanders has a shot (he doesn't, and Clinton learnt from the mistakes she made with Obama), and that other candidates can give her a fair fight (not really, and let me explain). In debates, someone like Cruz could run circles around her. For that matter, even the likes of Rubio and Christie could run intellectual loops around Clinton in debates (in the same way someone like Gingrich could have run circles around Obama had he won the nomination and given the opportunity). But as entertaining as debates are (and they have become more and more political theater/entertainment), they are not about winning the General. Even the Independents that are important in determining which half of the political divide wins are not as influenced by debates. However, Trump is different. He's a totally different political animal, and so far no one has found a way to kill his momentum. He simply doesn't fit to any mould, and that has been one of his greatest shields.
I know people here think Clinton would be easy to defeat, but she will actually be an exceedingly formidable opponent. The usual barbs people throw at her, including real issues like Benghazi, will not stick (and have not stuck). Once she's corronated (sorry, nominated) the media will really cover her like a fire blanket, keeping anything that they were not able to ignore from harming her. Dems will largely encapsulate her as she is the 'first female candidate,' similar to how they came around Obama. Dem turnout will be high. Definitely. The only person with a chance to break that is Trump. He says what he says without worrying too much about delivery or reception (a good thing against a political machine that uses adherence to political correctness as a tool and weapon), he has brought a fresh wind to national politics, and he would also inspire a higher turnout than anyone else in the Republican camp (more than absolutely anyone ...even people like Cruz, Carson and Rubio wouldn't energize voters like Trump).
The man is the only one with a chance. Anyone else will lose to Clinton and the Democrat Political Machine. I just hope Trump is aware of the fact that currently there must be millions of Dollars being spent looking for any dirt available on him. Any person with a video showing Trump taking drugs, or hitting a woman, or baking cute puppies ...anything ....is sitting on a gold mine. However, what makes Trump special is that even if something was found, he's the only one who could survive it.
And he's the only one who can defeat Clinton, someone that many here think is weak but she's actually the most potent political competition Republicans have ever faced since JFK.

I’m not criticizing their immigration policies, we should do something similar ourselves. We’re being inundated by people who hate us, dislike us, or are on the fence. Not good.
A genetic test is interesting, but since most of the people around there are basically the same (Jews and the people of Palestine are both semitic) I wonder what they are looking for? A religion gene?

Trump has it right. It is a temporary, as he stated, to give us time to find out what we a doing. Is that too hard for some to understand then we have more radical Muslims lovers in our Country that we might have realized. America seems to have just too many ignorant fools.
Too many foreigners here who can influence that and certainly the wrong people in Washington who’d be on board......we have a long way to go.

Please take the time to go to Rush Limbaugh’s website and read the law for yourself. It says that the President can stop anybody from coming into this country if they are believed to be a danger to this country. People with AR-15’s, having shot 14 people to death .. are probably considered to be a danger to this country ..???? So, how many more are there .. just waiting to pick their target.
