Tripwire Alert: New Hampshire – Trump Leads, Carson Has Collapsed, Cruz Rejected (splitters split)
Conservative Treehouse ^ | Dec 8 2015 | Sundance

Wow - Now we know why the GOPe is in full blown panic mode. The results from the latest WMUR/CNN Poll in New Hampshire (full pdf below) shows support for Ben Carson has fully collapsed, and Ted Cruz drops below John Kasich.... But it gets much, much worse for the establishment candidates.

The GOPe road map has totally collapsed in New Hampshire. All of the GOPe splitters are now left picking leftover scraps from those voters who are in the undecideds:

Trump has forced upon the GOPe the absolute nightmare scenario - "the splitters are splitting upon themselves". Rubio, Bush and Christie combined cannot beat Donald Trump's current level of support.

The millions spent by Team Kasich have garnered him a grand total of 7%; and the tens of millions spent by Jeb Bush only get him to 8%. The granite state electorate are fully engaged and they are seeing through the GOPe establishment schemes.

The New Hampshire voters are also seeing through the convenient flip-flops of Cruz and have identified the reality of Carson's inability.

DURHAM, N.H. --New York business executive Donald Trump not only continues to lead the Republican field, but his lead has grown significantly since late summer, with more likely primary voters than ever now saying they believe he will win the New Hampshire primary.

A new CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary Poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center also shows that Republican voters believe that by far, Trump stands the best chance among the GOP field to win the November 2016 general election and become president.

The poll, conducted from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7 among 402 likely Republican primary voters, also shows that in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernadino, California, half of Republican primary voters consider foreign policy and national security the issue most important to their votes. It is far ahead of jobs and the economy, now at 18 percent, and immigration at 12 percent.

The poll also show that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida has moved into second place, but still with less than half of amount of support enjoyed by Trump.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie appears to have received a slight bump from his endorsements by the New Hampshire Union Leader and past and current legislative leaders. He has moved into third place, but is still in single digits at 9 percent, up from 5 percent he received in the previous CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Primary poll in September.

Trump now leads the field with the support of 32 percent of likely primary voters, followed by Rubio at 14 percent, with Christie at 9 percent, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 8 percent, Ohio Gov. John Kasich at 7 percent, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas at 6 percent, and former business executive Carly Fiorina and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson each at 5 percent. (read more)

Cruz is focused on Iowa and S Carolina. New Hampshire is definitely conservative country. That said, while he has risen overall, but to me hasn’t demonstrated yet he could win over others outside of the conservative sphere. I think he’s gotten better with the campaign style, but has not shown a big enough of a personality to get around the media juggernaut. That’s the biggest pro for Trump, in my book. He’s not a die-hard conservative like Reagan, but he can circumvent the media like Reagan did. Probably even more so.

Yeah, waiting for the new PPP polls from SC and IA. I don’t think they’ll be all that pretty for Ted.

Cruz was not planning on winning in NH because he can’t - it’s NE lib hellhole politically - that’s why those who are doing well there are doing well. Like Oregon or something... would you be surprised to see a GOPe beating a conservative there?

Cruz shot himself in the foot with his ridiculous senate action for a “heroic” moratorium (full of holes) to try and parrot Trump again, and it turns out to be an insult to our intelligence!

Sheesh. He may lose his little “surge” even in Iowa.

All the mediot fools are unknowingly backing Obama’s refusal to use his existing Constitutional power to shut down muslim aliens entering the country until they can be properly vetted. This will surge Trump again in the polls.

Per existing federal law at 8 USC 1182:

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to appropriate.

Current laws banning admission to the US, and not requiring new laws. Just need someone like Trump to have them enforced:

http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCODE-2011-title8/html/USCODE-2011-title8-chap12-subchapII-partII-sec1182.htm
gpo~government printing office:

No admission for any alien for Security and related grounds

(3) Security and related grounds
(A) In general
Any alien who a consular officer or the Attorney General knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, seeks to enter the United States to engage solely, principally, or incidentally in—
(i) any activity (I) to violate any law of the United States relating to espionage or sabotage or (II) to violate or evade any law prohibiting the export from the United States of goods, technology, or sensitive information,
(ii) any other unlawful activity, or
(iii) any activity a purpose of which is the opposition to, or the control or overthrow of, the Government of the United States by force, violence, or other unlawful means,

is inadmissible.
(B) Terrorist activities
(i) In general
Any alien who—
(I) has engaged in a terrorist activity;
(II) a consular officer, the Attorney General, or the Secretary of Homeland Security knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, is engaged in or is likely to engage after entry in any terrorist activity (as defined in clause (iv));
(III) has, under circumstances indicating an intention to cause death or serious bodily harm, incited terrorist activity;
(IV) is a representative (as defined in clause (v)) of—
(aa) a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or
(bb) a political, social, or other group that endorses or espouses terrorist activity;

(V) is a member of a terrorist organization described in subclause (I) or (II) of clause (vi);
(VI) is a member of a terrorist organization described in clause (vi)(III), unless the alien can demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that the alien did not know, and should not reasonably have known, that the organization was a terrorist organization;
(VII) endorses or espouses terrorist activity or persuades others to endorse or espouse terrorist activity or support a terrorist organization;
(VIII) has received military-type training (as defined in section 2339D(c)(1) of title 18) from or on behalf of any organization that, at the time the training was received, was a terrorist organization (as defined in clause (vi)); or
(IX) is the spouse or child of an alien who is inadmissible under this subparagraph, if the activity causing the alien to be found inadmissible occurred within the last 5 years,

is inadmissible. An alien who is an officer, official, representative, or spokesman of the Palestine Liberation Organization is considered, for purposes of this chapter, to be engaged in a terrorist activity.

What is Ted’s interpretation of this still standing Law?
Does he feel it is still valid?

LOL, though granted, it IS New Hampshire, which I can’t imagine would be natural Cruz country.

Rita, I think it is less that it was viewed as a copy or "parrot" of Trump than it was another example of why the GOP in Washington---even the good guys like Cruz and Lee---just don't appear to "do" anything. So he "introduces" something. That does what? Nothing.

Now OF COURSE he's only one senator, but that's kind of the point. We have had five years of people "introducing a bill" or "filing a motion" or mumbo jumbo that never seems to actually stop Obama and his radical minions.

Cruz has never made a move toward New Hampshire and anyone who has followed this race has known that. If he ends up in the top two in Iowa and ends up in the top three in New Hampshire, he will be set to continue onto South Carolina and the March 1st contests.

Endurance and survival is the important part of this race. Those who can’t end up in the top three of either Iowa and New Hampshire will be out of time, out of money, and out of the running.

And that includes Cruz, Rubio, Bush, Trump, Carson or anyone else. After Iowa, the New Hampshire polls will solidify dramatically and we will get a better sense of who will do well there.

Trump clearly has the lead right now, but a lot of candidates have flamed out in the last month before Iowa.

The New Hampshire voters are also seeing through the convenient flip-flops of Cruz and have identified the reality of Carson's inability.

This writer does is either ignorant of the dynamics or is being dishonest. Cruz scores worse in New Hampshire because he gives off more of an evangelical vibe than New Hampshirites are comfortable with. Carson never was a big deal in NH to begin with.

Also, give Trump his due; he knows how to communicate to northeasterners.

All northeasterners have been exposed to the idea that a traditional conseravtive cannot win, because of the people they live and workl with every day in the leftist mode dominate the local culture. Trump is an unconventional politician whom is nationalist, but not philosophically conservative in the typical manner.

Unless you are a mind reader, you are a fool if you can look at a raw percentage, and based on that determine that the voters who have changed are thinking one particular thing.

Cruz loses outside of the conservative South. What has he got for the unions and labor in the North, who don’t want “no stinkin’ Texas conservative” parading around in the North.

That is why it takes an over active imagination to think that Trump needs him on his ticket, in a general election.
It would be VERY unhelpful to TRUMP’s regional appeal. He needs help, not injury to his ticket.
