The moment the Trump/Cruz 2016 campaign is announced, the election is over but for the crying lamentations of the rest of the field, R or Dummy
“””Ted will come around. They all will.””””
Some won’t. Some will ride the PC train to their deaths.
No way. As I posted in #21, if they announced they were teaming up today, the election would be over and they would be on the way to the WH. The rest of the candidates would become irrelevant.
“Cruz wants it both ways.”
No, he said he does not agree with Trump’s proposal. That is a clear cut answer. There is no need to call Trump names which he will not do as the other candidates have done about this.
Fixed!
If Trump goes down, it would mean that those who wish the country ill have prevailed. Those who are, like 0bama, working to fundamentally transform America into their own warped image where citizens are made the handmaidens of illegal aliens, and coddlers of extremists who wish to destroy us. These are the same people who would line up and meekly submit to their own murder to avoid being called a bad name.
On the contrary, it would present a single target. It would allow the both of them to be picked apart - possibly forced into disavowing the other.
I support both candidates, but Trump can afford to do things Cruz will never be able to do.
No room in America for Christian refugees
January 07, 2015, 04:00 pm
America is about to accept 9000 Syrian Muslims, refugees of the brutal war between the Assad regime and its Sunni opposition, which includes ISIS, Al Qaeda, and various other militias. That number is predicted to increase each year. There are no Christian refugees that will be admitted.
Why? Because the Department of State is adhering with all the rigidity of a Soviet era bureaucracy to the rule that only people at risk from massacres launched by the regime qualify for refugee status. The rapes of Christian women and the butchery of Christian children do not count. No matter how moved Americans were this Christmas season by the plight of their fellow Christ followers in Syria and Iraq, no matter how horrific the visuals of beheadings, enslavement, and mass murder, the Christians fleeing death do not engender the compassion of this president.
The Christians are being raped, tortured, and murdered by militias, not by the Syrian government. This technicality condemns them to continue to be victims without hope. And this technicality is being adhered to with all the tenacity with which President Franklin D. Rooseveltâs State Department manipulated quotas and created subterfuges to keep out the Jews fleeing the oppression of Nazi Germany. Obama no more wants the Middle Eastâs Christian refugees than Roosevelt wanted Europeâs Jewish refugees.
As you know, Trump never backs down.
And if the other candidates start getting weak kneed about this (and they will when that realize that Trump has forced them to align with Obama on this issue), the establishment may crumble just as Erik Erickson crumbled.
This was masterful on Trump's part. Just brilliant.
Game, set, match.
No, Cruz and Trump are solidifying their alliance.
Agreed. Lock up the nomination first, then worry about the possibility of being on the same ticket.
I support both candidates, but Trump can afford to do things Cruz will never be able to do.
One of those things would be the ability to hold off the GOPe field in total. A suggestion last night was for Trump to leave the campaign because of his Muslim comments (I disagree that he should). Doing that would be political suicide for conservatives as I don't believe Cruz can hold off the entire GOPe on his own.
I can agree with this to an extent, but I believe the novelty of it would blow everything else out of the water. Imagine it...the fact they didn't wait out the primaries and joined forces to run together? The media wouldn't be able to ignore it...it would dominate the news for some time, and leave the rest of the candidates placed in a position where all they can do is say "what about me?" Lol.
Yep. This was a calculated “to the right” move!
So the difference is that Trump said ban Muslims refugees, Cruz said ban refugees from terrorist countries. I like Trumps plan better. Our country is sending back Christians to countries killing them.
No room in America for Christian refugees (murdered by militias, not Syrian govt. don’t qualitfy) http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/foreign-policy/228670-no-room-in-america-for-christian-refugees
Iraqi Christians already here are going to be deported too. Why not care about Christians http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3255382/Two-dozen-Iraqi-Christians-fled-ISIS-crossed-U-S-seeking-religious-asylum-booted-days.html
I hope so. After 4 years learning The Art of the Deal from Trump, he will be in the corner office for 8 years. :-)
Cruz tweeted that if elected president, "I will shut down the broken immigration system that is letting jihadists into our country." Cruz elaborated in a statement:This is not the same thing as Trump is proposing. The President should place an immediate moratorium on refugees from countries with a significant al Qaeda or ISIS presence, such as Syria. I've introduced legislation to make this happen; it is not a desired step, but a necessary step for the security of the United States.
Trump said a temporary ban on "muslim" immigration PERIOD. Not just those from countries with a significant jihadi population. He added that there would be exceptions for individuals.
Maybe Trump has someone else in mind. I’d much rather see Sen. Jeff Sessions. He would add a lot of political experience and is very conservative.
He doesn’t need Cruz right now. If he does later, he might do that.
They’ll get that opportunity in the general election. I think Trump is savvy enough to know government is not business. Hiring a corporate chief as VP doesn’t make sense.
He’ll need a politician that understands the institutions but hasn’t been polluted by them. That would appear to be Cruz.
Sessions would be a good majority leader, and would be likely to take that job, actually.
In the house, they are going to have to find someone with a level head and a spine and a good whip too.
It could be a very good thing, but it will happy after the convention.
What you can count on is that Trump and Cruz won’t stray from the 115h commandment until then.
Yes, and it’s working. “I love it when a plan comes together”!
