(CNN) -- House Speaker Paul Ryan sharply condemned Donald Trump, his party's front-runner presidential candidate, on Tuesday, following Trump's call to ban all Muslims from entering the United States. Ryan told members of his party at a closed door meeting that Trump's comments are "not who we are as a party" and violate the Constitution, according to Republican Rep. Matt Salmon, who attended the gathering.

Must be reading a different constitution than I do. Trump is right, our leaders are stupid.

I wouldn't go quite that far. I know Mark personally and have worked with him on immigration issues. I am sure that he knows that he must be somewhat deferential to the GOPe if he wants to get published in the NR and other similar publications. Mark works closely with Sessions and Steve King. Also, it worth mentioning that CIS is a non-profit organization, which can receive tax deductible donations. CIS has to walk a fine line with the IRS.
I don't think it was necessary to bash Trump to make his points.

Ryan was a bad pick. We all knew that. What we will do is concentrate on our Congressman and remove him unless he wants to make America great again. Ryan-— TRUMP IS THE PARTY NOW!!

Well, it was a good thing that we were all 'wise' to cheer the full cave in the House to get in a speaker that could "govern...."
And certainly wise and sophisticated to "give the guy a chance before we condemn him," we plebes really need to step back a bit and learn from the insiders... they know how things get done in DC...
After all, this guy was Mutt's VP choice and we all saw what a rousing success he was in the debate and on the campaign trail....
Heck, this guy now sports a little beard.... I think that it was a masterstroke on his part to assume the look of the pointy headed intellectuals of the ruling class... we are so lucky that he is on "our" side....
So, Norm, just sit back and watch how the real politicians "govern," don't get in the way.... give them the time and space that they truly deserve!!

Muslims in the military eh? Seems there was one decorated Muslim in the Army that decided one day to shoot up a whole lot of our brave warriors in the name of a false God.
Paul Ryan can stand with the Muslims while we mow them down.

Well I’ll defer to your judgement seeing as you know him. Sometimes the public face doesn’t tell us all.

Forget the part after ‘unless’- Ryan has shown many times that he cannot be trusted.
He was a bad choice and needs to be primaried like Eric Cantor was.

It's the claims that it's "Unconstitutional" that are most frustrating.
It exposes ALL in opposition as either stupid or corrupt.
