Trumpâ€™s Proposed Muslim Immigration Moratorium Is the Wrong Response to Political Correctness

I completely get the fury over political correctness. I completely understand that the aristocratic political, media, and academic establishment have been lying to us about Islam and the Muslim world for more than fourteen years. As I explain at length on the home page, it's simply not the case that Islam is a peaceful, tolerant faith plagued by a tiny few extremists. Rather, Islam has massive problem with hate and bigotry - with hundreds of millions of Muslims supporting the worst kinds of religious intolerance and tens of millions more outright terrorist sympathizers. In the refugee controversy, I've repeated over and over that it's foolish to admit a class of refugees when we know the world's leading terror army is attempting to infiltrate the displaced masses or recruit from their ranks. We can be compassionate without making ourselves vulnerable.

But the correct response to political correctness isn't to simply take the opposite position, to answer one form of unthinking ideology with another. By tacking to the opposite of Obama's scolding self-righteousness, Trump isn't charting his own course so much as merely reacting. In fact, now that he's "clarified" that he's not just talking about immigration but a moratorium on all Muslim entry to the United States, he's gone well beyond being the anti-Obama and has reacted straight into foolishness.

Off the top of their heads, even the most hawkish national security conservatives can identify multiple categories of Muslims who should have access to the United States, beginning - of course - with our own citizens. There are many others. What about the interpreters who've laid down their lives to serve our warriors downrange and now find themselves under imminent threat from jihadists? What about members of allied militaries who are training to be the Muslim "boots on the ground" that we need to help take the fight to the enemy? Do we treat the Kurds - who are sheltering so many of Iraq's Christians while also providing the most effective fighting force against ISIS - the same as we treat suspected terrorists? It makes no sense.

Kiss Our Intelligence Apparatus Goodnight. We need to work with Muslims both foreign and domestic. It's one thing to label Islamic terrorism and radical Islam a problem. It's another to label all individual Muslims a problem. That's what this policy does. It's factually wrong and ethically incomprehensible. Donald Trump has just transformed into the strawman President Obama abused on Sunday night.

There is nothing wrong with closing our borders to select groups when confronted with actionable intelligence or to place some groups under greater scrutiny because of known threats. But to treat every single Muslim as a threat, regardless of whether they're from Raqqa, Erbil, Cairo, or Des Moines - and regardless of whether they've tweeted jihadist threats or bled on the battlefield alongside our troops - is to act mindlessly. I would also say Trump is acting maliciously, but I don't think Trump despises Muslims as much as he loves leading the news cycle. This is a political stunt and should be treated as such.

I often speak to audiences on college campuses and elsewhere about the proper response to PC nonsense. I call the formula "apathetic, informed conviction." When formulating cultural or political opinions, one must be completely apathetic to PC pressures - don't react against or capitulate to leftist browbeating. Instead, educate yourself and act through informed conviction. Respond to unreason with reason, to intimidation with a bored shrug, and speak truth even when the truth is unpleasant. In this instance, however, Donald Trump is the voice of attention-seeking reaction, not principled leadership.

David French doesn’t even understand the problem, let alone having a clue to its solution. This situation with muslims is not merely one of PC. It isn’t like we Americans simply prefer a different sports team from the muslims. No. It goes much deeper than that.

Our REAL problems with islam are written in its own by-laws, if you will. There are numerous commandments in its sacred book, instructing muslims that no other religion, or absence of it, should be allowed to exist on the planet. Other faiths and/or non-faiths are not to be permitted on Earth. And every effort, overt or clandestine, MUST be made to bring islam and its shariah law into a position of holding absolute sway over every human soul everywhere.

And while its final goal is for every living earth dweller to be converted or killed; its initial drive is to acquire political and civil sway over the entire planet. It is commanded to subvert, infiltrate and overpower every people group and every inch of real estate on the planet. ANY and All means may and must be employed in the doing of it.

Masquerading as a religion of peace is merely one of the myriad tactics to be used. Lying, deceit, subterfuge and all other imaginable tactics are permissible and considered highly moral in the islamic conquest of Earth.

The recent atrocity in San Bernardino, CA is a shining example of how muslims are commanded to, and DO operate in the advance of islam. If outright immediate overthrow is not feasible in the targeted nation; muslims know they are commanded to commence the overthrow by stealth. They are commanded to insinuate themselves into the targeted civilization. To adamantly refuse to assimilate or accede to its laws or customs. To demand special concessions in the name of their religion, and give the outward appearance of becoming peaceful, submitted citizens.

Meanwhile, they are commanded to secretly arm themselves with every possible weapon or tool available, in preparation for the moment when, by command from afar or by their own volition, they suddenly rise up and kill, maim and terrorize every possible non-muslim they can, with personal death in the name of their god being highly preferable to capture and/or imprisonment.

And that is precisely what the two in San Bernardino did. Meanwhile, such muslims or sympathisers as Obama and the numerous muslims installed by him into positions of power and influence in our government; do everything in their power to portray these atrocities as mysterious aberrations, with no possible clue as to why they took place; and by hook or by crook, to import more and more such individuals from foreign nations into our Country to continue the efforts of islam to overthrow and destroy our civil government and religious faith, using our very freedoms and liberties as weapons against us.

Not every muslim coming to our Country is commited to personally engaging in acts of violence and terror; but every man Jack of them, as a submissive muslim, is in perfect agreement with those who are, and will demonstrate it by refraining from ANY real meaningful opposition to it, by word or deed.

It is against this operation of treasonous intrigue that Donald J. Trump is the LONE, perfectly lucid and valiantly courageous person to declare that he understands all of the above. And to voice the obvious truth that since islam has been permitted and even assisted in commiting these atrocities, and in the establishing of untold numbers of sleeper cells and clandestine terrorists such as the California couple into the very fabric of our Nation; the first step to take in our own defense, is to immediately HALT the flow of additional muslims into the United States until we can acquire some semblance of knowledge and control over who is here, and what they are up to.

Hopefully, an adequate majority of voting citizens have come to understand the true predicament our Country has been led into, and and are prepared to stand with Trump in halting its advance, and in taking the severe measures required in reversing and removing the danger.

I've read your posts on this thread, and I think I understand your stance. What I suggest,
if you haven't read him already, is read Sundance at Conservative Treehouse. He has
been framing this campaign accurately, in my opinion.

As Conservative Constitutionalists, it is incumbent upon us to examine how we have
arrived at the state we are in: how did we get here? The globalists & GOPe backed
Bush 1, worked
with the Clintons, backed Bush 2, backed McCain and Romney
and have worked with Obama. They set down the groundwork to make Bush 3 the nominee, but if he doesn't
make it with the help of the multiple "splitters" then Clinton 2 will do. The only person
who can call his own shots, is outside Wall street and the globalists, and who has support
accross the political spectrum, is Trump.

Cruz has appeal to Conservatives, but has some
baggage that will prevent him from winning the general election. I still wish for him to be
VP. But Trump, given the stakes of this election - ie crucial like no other in our lifetimes
- is the only one who can keep the globalists & elitists at bay. Who knows for how long.
