The Navy announced Monday that it has reprimanded a two-star admiral for getting drunk and wandering naked around a Florida beachfront hotel while attending a conference with defense contractors.
Rear Adm. David F. Baucom, the director of strategy and policy at the U.S. Transportation Command, became so intoxicated at an upscale beachfront resort in April that he struck his head on a barstool, wet his pants and needed an escort back to his room, according to an investigative report by the Naval Inspector General.
A few hours later, still in a haze, Baucom re-emerged from his room without any clothes on - as his door automatically locked behind him, the report states.
As the admiral stumbled around the grounds of the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club desperately looking for a towel to wrap around his waist, he was spotted by two alarmed female guests who reported him to hotel security.

Once in a Florida hotel I had an encounter, while nude, with a huge roach in the shower. No alcohol was involved.
Why yes I have. This is a non-issue, a censure at best.
This is one of the funniest stories I have read in a long time. Hope the guy gets a pass on this one but I don’t think he will.

He’s a sailor after all-— Needs a bit of R & R—Nice to see some ancient nautical traditions are kept alive. Ancient Roman Admirals did this, so to admirals in Nelson’s time.
Non-issue? The guy is a flag rank officer who got so drunk in public he wet his pants and then stumbled around a hotel with no clothes. The Navy takes a very dim view of alcohol abuse especially among senior officers and I’ll bet he’ll get an NJP/Admiral’s mast and told to retire. He could be a candidate for an Article 133: “action or behavior in an unofficial or private capacity which, in dishonoring or disgracing the officer personally, seriously compromises the person’s standing as an officer”.
He’s a Rear Admiral, naturally.

Yep, pick your poison mate and stick with it. On top of the mixing it with some sort of pharmaceutical, that's a big no-no. Also, this guy didn't have any pals with him, to watch his back ? Fail all the way around sir.
