After Paris and California attacks, U.S. Muslims feel intense backlash

Rabia Chaudry kept her 7-year-old daughter home from her private Islamic school in Maryland on Thursday, fearing anti-Muslim backlash from Wednesday’s massacre nearly 3,000 miles away in San Bernardino, Calif.

“I think we are all feeling exhausted and very vulnerable,” said Chaudry, a lawyer and national security fellow at the New America Foundation. “I’m angry at those people who did this attack. And I’m angry at how this is being politicized. Everything boils down to, ‘We should fear Muslims. And they shouldn’t be here.’ ”

American Muslims say they are living through an intensely painful moment and feel growing anti-Muslim sentiment after the recent Islamic State attacks in Paris and this week’s San Bernardino shootings, carried out by a Muslim husband and wife.

The motivations of the California killers are still unclear, although authorities are investigating it as a potential act of terrorism. Muslims said they are bracing for an even more toxic climate in which Americans are increasingly suspicious of Muslims.

I agree. The so-called peaceful Muslims are just those who don’t actually do the dirty work themselves but support and applaud those who do.

And these huge mosques we’ve allowed to be built here... that never should have happened. They are just training grounds for terrorism.

Example: a huge mosque built ten or 15 years ago in Irving, Texas, was the breeding ground for Clock Boy and his activist father.

We should not allow these Mosques. Closing them would be controversial but who cares. It would be a start.

They do not further their cause when these attacks happen. Instead of being publicly critical of the terrorists they try to find a way to blame someone else or play “poor me, now I will be picked on” not understanding or more likely not caring that they are not the victims here and pretending they are is making a lot of people extremely angry.

The people in the U.S. have an undercurrent that if you are not with us you are against us, I am sure not feeling that many Muslims are “with us” and they do nothing to even give a hint that they are.

It is not all about them, yet that is how they choose to play it.

These Muslims NEVER express any concern about the plight of Christians in THEIR home countries, and that plight is immeasurably worse than what these Muslims face here.

I get oh so sick abut these inevitable “backlash” stories. They always deflect attention from the crime. God, I detest the media.

"This is not actually an example of a backlash. It doesn't say one thing about the way Americans treat muslims. Ahhh, but who cares. We report feelings, not facts."

True. I have not seen one single story, anywhere in this country of 300 million people, about even ONE example of "backlash."

"It is not all about them, yet that is how they choose to play it."

Their religion teaches them that they are better than everyone else, so - when things go wrong - it is always someone else's fault.

It is inconceivable that the WP would publish a similar article in the wake of a terrorist attack perpetrated by a right-winger.

America is a nation based on the principles of life liberty and freedom.
Islam is religion, cult, system based on oppression fear and death.
It is not compatible with our society.

They can always leave. If there is truly a backlash, it’s long overdue.

And Rabia Chaudry can go pound sand. Look around the world Ms Chaudry and wherever there is conflict, Muslims are involved. What does that tell about this religion of peace?

Yeah, after 9/11 we were so outrageously intolerant. After Fort Hood and the murder of military recruiters and the Boston Marathon bombings, etc. we rushed out and harassed Muslims.

Okay, we’re sick of the crap in your insane religion. Clean it up or leave the country.

Why is this idiot Muslim slime mother afraid to send her stupid Muslim brat to an all Muslim private school?

Is she worried about Muslim backlash?

Geesh, what a crock this whiny assed article is.

I feel no pity for them.

>> more toxic climate in which Americans are increasingly suspicious

Toxic?

To the MSM, terrorism is a justifiable opportunity to strip us of our liberties. But when we object to the violent deeds of Mohammed’s flock, we’re being ‘toxic.’

The MSM is the Country’s greatest threat.

Backlash has not happened yet.

When it does, I suspect some of the more egregiously traitorous members of the press will be affected as well.
