As he extends his lead in the Republican presidential race, billionaire businessman Donald Trump keeps bucking his party establishment and confounding predictions of his imminent downfall. His success has come not just from being an outsider but also from being fiercely anti-establishment, railing against the government and the institutions that he hopes to lead. It's a freewheeling style made possible by Mr. Trump's loose ties to political ideology. "He's not bound by ideology in a traditional sense," said David W. Rohde, a political science professor at Duke University. Mr. Trump is not a tea party constitutionalist or a pro-business Republican or a small-government conservative. He is strictly pro-Trump. "Trump's presentation is that everybody in government is incompetent or evil and if we just give the power to him he will make things just fine," said Mr. Rohde. "It's the presentation of those ideas is what leads to his success. It is coupling those views with a lot of anger and ridicule that a segment of the Republican Party finds appealing. "Now a whole lot of people find it not appealing," he added. Mr. Trump climbed to 27 percent at the top of a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, up from 24 percent in the same survey last month. Mr. Trump bested the competition with a variety of Republicans, including voters who described themselves as tea party, extremely conservative and moderate or liberal. He also won among men and women who vote Republican, according to the poll.

I hope it’s the biggest landslide in American history.
And every one of these attacks strengthens Trump’s candidacy.
Love the Donald! He’s stirring the pot. Hope he gets the nomination.
Unbound by political ideology...now thats disturbing considering how leftists are destroying the country. Does this mean he’ll make a deal which will help out dems!

A better translation may be that Americans are sick and tired of DC politicians telling us what is best for us.
We’re tired of decades of empty promises, and absolutely NO action...except to the betterment of THEIR bank accounts.
We’re tired of PACs and special interest groups having REPRESENTATION, while We the Taxpayer have none!!
Trump is our voice....regardless of our own political ideology.
A voice without an ideology is dangerous. If Trump decides Single Payer is right for the country are his Conservatives supporters gonna say ok?
Be serious, you have to know that his health care philosophy (yes that is ideology by another term) is all about unfettered competition between plans country wide. That does not sound like single payer to me.
Trump has several ideologies, including capitalism, competition, deal making, and patriotism. His main philosophy is to look at his actions from the standpoint of what is good for the middle class American. This is a valid ideology but you can see that sometimes it may not be 100% on line with what the Dems and the GOP would like to see. An example is open borders.
I have gone into this detail so that you stop using terms like “dangerous” to describe the Donald. The only people entitled to that terminology are the GOPe. And they believe Trump will be their greatest nightmare because of his basic non-control ability.
And that’s why he will win. In order to change the direction the country is headed we have to win the Presidency, and an ideologue can’t do that.
Love it, KC!
lol
Being unbound by political ideology is dangerous especially with people who could influence one to do the wrong thing.
I’m looking for a Conservative unafraid to implement Conservative ideology. Not being a politician is fine but one must have Conservative foundation.

From the article and I totally agree:
“Donald Trump rose up because people viewed him as a man of achievement and action, who would take charge and get things done. Not the things the politicians wanted but what the people wanted.”
Yep!
This is why I do not support him. I want a conservative, not a megalomaniac.
Absolutely. For every 1 person that doesn't like him there's 10 that do. He's made that calculation.

AMEN!
This explains the Trumpnami taking place, all across the country :)
