No wonder #Russia's Su-24 got 'lost' in #Turkey, check out the Walmart-Grade GPS system in their attack jets: #Syria pic.twitter.com/xugzx2Gqvs— Silver Surfer (@RobPulseNews) November 24, 2015

Yes it was horrible with Andy Taylor
They’re mocking the one country causing the single most devastation to jihadis. “moderate” rebels. jihadia, ISIS al qauda or however the hell you spell it.
I dont care what navigation they use.
we have the fanciest toys in the world. dont matter if you barely use them and go by absurd rules of engagement.
kill them all russia,
“This makes me think I can build an attack jet in my back yard, redneck style! “
You could. It would be very effective until you ran into a first world counter-air asset. Military hardware does not have to be awesome best-of-its-kind unless you’re fighting similar equipment. We would do very well having a first world military and a larger drone military of disposable cheap assets. But that’s not the way the military or Congressmen think.
Israel is making a fortune revamping elderly jets with new engines and new avionics. It turns out that a 1960’s or 1970’s jet with new parts can be very effective in most applications.
I was in ACE Hardware the other day. They are selling a remote control quadra-copter drone compete with camera and video screen feed to your iPhone. $49.95.
Those Wal-Mart class GPS systems would be state of the art 10 years ago.....
If they work, who cares?
You know what strikes me as stupid? Spending $20,000.00 for an "advanced" gps system that gets you a little closer.
Just found this: Please Share this B.O.L.O. from the San Bernardino Sheriff that 3 active shooters including 30 year old Farooq Saeed are at large after killing at least 12 possibly more and leaving a suspicious package behind possibly a bomb. Do not approach them they have body armor and are heavily armed and were last seen leaving the scene at Waterman Avenue & Orange Show Road in a black S.U.V.
Please share to spread the word before Barack Obama calls this workplace violence instead of âª#âISISâ¬!

Andy GRIFFITH..............
“...I heard a person earlier mention he was listening to the police scanner and they mentioned Farouq and 3 “Arabic named” suspects.
Yet MSM says 1-3 “white” men.
And it’s known because a BOLO was issued for Farouq...” ??
That's cause we fought like honey badgers.
Go get' em, Vlad.
LEAVE RUSSIANS ALONE!!! (cries desperately pulling his hair)...
Consumer grade GPS maybe better than ones issued by the government, who use decades old tech
“I was in ACE Hardware the other day. They are selling a remote control quadra-copter drone compete with camera and video screen feed to your iPhone. $49.95.”
With minor modifications something like that could be very effective under some conditions. You’d need a coding device so that somebody with a stronger signal couldn’t hijack it. You’d also need something to prevent an anti-radiation missile from homing in on your position. Both of those are relatively easy fixes. Even if it ended up costing $5,000 a copy, that would be cheap compared with what the military buys now. Also, you’d need to be ready to upgrade quickly to something more effective if you get countered. But, alas, nobody in our military thinks like this.
Probably just in there as a backup. Could even be a joke photo.
Russians use GLONASS, not GPS.
In the U S, they might also use Walmart grade GPS devices, but would be paying some supplier millions of dollars for each one.
TOW DRONE IS BEST.
unjammable.
"Say what you will, the Russian people are tough bastards."

Even during the period of Peter the Great, the Russians proved themselves as masterful in copying and improving period weapons of the day. During WW II, they did this to great advantage.
We ignore them at our own peril.
