The studio is denying that there the character gets raped by a bear, he just gets flipped by a mother bear who feels he’s a threat to her cubs. Those are the bear facts.
If the bear were male and they married at the end, he’d be a contender for the Oscar. And to think, when I was a child, all the bears were looking for were picnic baskets.
Leo said the scene was one of the most difficult he’s done. When the bear attacked, he just had to grin and bear it. It sounds unbearable. I could bearly stand to read it. The headlines must have left the studio executives embearrassed.
