WAR hero turned MP Andrew Hastie is leading a call for an "honest debate" on the links between Islamic teaching and terrorism.
Mr Hastie, a former SAS commander who did three tours of duty in Afghanistan, has been joined by several Coalition colleagues in calling for a reform or modernisation of Islam.
"Modern Islam needs to cohere with the Australian way of life, our values and institutions. In so far as it doesn't, it needs reform," Mr Hastie told the Herald Sun.
Victorian MP Michael Sukkar identified a lack of a reformation within Islam — similar to the one undergone in Christianity — as contributing to "medieval teachings and practices".
The comments from the MPs come amid growing concern within Government ranks that the public debate about Islamic State terrorists is whitewashing links between Islamic teachings and extremist ideology.
The views contrast with those of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who has described Islamic State as godless terrorists who "defame and blaspheme Islam".

In the headline, the MP stands for Member of Parliament - Mister Hastie was elected to the Australian Parliament in September this year (a mid term by election to replace a member who died).
He joined the Australian Army after the September 11th attacks - he has said he was disgusted at anti-American sentiment being expressed in one of his university classes the day after the attacks.
He served tours in Afghanistan as an officer in the Armoured Corps, and then again later, after he had been selected and trained for the Special Air Service.

If Islam is the religion of peace, then Islamic Extremist would be extreme peace.

In such case, Islam really needs to stay on their side of the world, and we need to stay on our side. We should not allow Muslim immigration into America, or other western countries. They are not interested in assimilating, they are interested in conquering.
I saw some population projections for some European countries in decades ahead, and the growth of Islam is going to overwhelm some countries. High Muslim immigration, combined with high Muslim birth rates and low native European birthrates, are going to conquer some European countries if nothing is done.

Between the Koran (The word of God to Muslims)and the Hadiths which are the examples done by Muhammed on how to practice the religion with God's blessing; the religion is basically cast in stone and really can't be reformed. -Tom

Islam is being reformed, and ISIS is the one doing it.
This is true, but the question posed is a worthwhile one to push the debate and expose Islam for what it is. Westerners are generally still asleep to the true nature of the existential threat they face.
No, he's not. Here is what he said:

The statement is true, and the question moves the debate among the still somnambulant masses. Obviously the implied next part of the statement is: "If Islam can't reform, it can have no place in Australia."
Or anywhere else civilized people live.
The choice for Islam is pretty clear then, either change from within, or change shall be forced upon them by external forces, and that change may extend to outright obliteration.
When a pack of wolves has one of its whelps behaving badly and in a manner not consistent with the pack’s better interests, the wolves turn upon the young malcontent and destroy it.
Wolves have a strong sense of self-preservation, and the recalcitrant whelp threatened that collective sense of the pack.
Think of all of humanity as a very large pack of wolves.
The Islamic scholars had better hurry up and get on with the rewrite of the Koran, or it shall be turned against them.
