Not appealing to us either Unfortunately we have a son who fell into drugs and literally made a baby with a crack whore He is in and out of jail it took us almost a year and one 401k to get custody. Another almost 20 mos and another 401k to terminate their rights and adopt her. But the only other option was to leave her with her crack and meth addled mother who keeps moving in with different abusive drug dealers. God will provide and we will figure out how to raise a child while trying to retire!

Not necessarily. The answer to this is apparently among one of the thousands of "codings" that are REQUIRED by the Obamacare act. If you decline to answer, that tells the government a lot about YOU. If the doctor declines to ask, that tells the government a lot about HIM (OK Austingirl, or HER). Neither case is good. The real problem is that the doctor is required to ask. It's time to get the government completely out of the doctor's office.

Thank you for that advice. My doc office now has a one star rating on yelp. The next time they start their interrogation, I will give them fair warning that I will answer questions until they ask one that is unrelated to my health; then I will end the interview.

Which is complete hogwash. A number of industrialized countries with virtual gun bans have significantly higher suicide rates than the US with its very high rate of gun ownership.
There is no correlation with gun ownership and suicide. And certainly no causation. Two statistical terms that those numbnuts in the AAP have no clue about.

I’ve been to many different doctors here in Maine over the years and I have never been asked anything about guns.
If a doctor did ask, I’m tempted to say to the doctor....
“If I say no, I don’t own any firearms, and someone with bad intentions who works in your office sees my questionnaire, they may try to break into my home in order to rob me because they know that I am not armed.
If I say yes, this same person with bad intentions who works in your office and sees my questionnaire may try to break into my home when I’m not there in order to steal my firearms.
So either way, doctor, my security will be put at risk. Therefore, I will not and can not answer your question.”
