Washington (AFP) - A suspected shooter reportedly spoke of "no more baby parts" after his arrest following a five-hour siege of a family planning clinic in Colorado Springs that left three people dead, including a police officer.
Details began to emerge Saturday about what may have driven the suspect, Robert Lewis Dear, 57, to enter the Planned Parenthood clinic with a high-powered rifle on Friday and fire on police and civilians outside the building.
The clinic performs abortions -- a highly emotive and divisive issue in America.
NBC News, citing two law enforcement officials, said that when questioned after his arrest Dear mentioned "no more baby parts" in reference to Planned Parenthood.

I think it would be smarter to quietly walk into the pp instead of starting the shooting outside. If pp was the target, that is.
Too busy watching Patriots, the ones they consider the REAL danger to the regime.
“the guy is an extremely heavy user of marijuana..”
He should have overdosed and died long ago. Like all the
other heavy users of marijuana. The biggest coverup is
all the dead “heavy users of marijuana”. If the drug is
so powerful that it makes you shoot up an abortion clinic
you would think that it’s danger of overdose would be
more publicly proclaimed.
First they were saying it was an AK, but I don’t know if it is certain. It sounded like they were starting to back away from that. Then they stopped giving out information, and let the media speculate the whole weekend.
Possible he didn’t know it was a PP place and his comment was a response to an investigator’s question about PP.
Withholding judgement for the time being.
A lot can happen in fifteen years.
Since any law enacted in the US would have had no effect on the Nazis then, no, it would not have been wrong.
A very different situation in your own country where laws are used to deal with problems.
Doubtful. UCCS officers are sworn COS city police. He was on duty and in uniform at the time.
over here.
These people don't look dangerous to me, but they could be targets.
this line could be a lie- unless they have him on tape stating that, then we will never know if it’s true or not- This sounds an awful lot like our dear leader coming out immediately claiming Benghazi was because of an internet video
I’d agree with you up to the point where people mix things into the marijuana...like PCP for example. That’s a big practice in Detroit.
This guy allegedly shot a lot of cops but the narrative is not that he hated cops.
The family of a victim has identified him as Ke’Arre M. Stewart.
He was black but no mention that the shooter hated blacks. No - this is all about abortion clinics not being safe from white Christian conservatives and they will not let facts get in the way.
Maybe he was trying to rob the bank and when it went bad, decided to use the Planned Parenthood location as a coverup for his motive. He had plenty of time to try and think of a cover story. And protesting Planned Parenthood would at least get him more sympathy potentially than robbing a bank.
“Critics, many of whom seek to outlaw abortion in the United States, have falsely accused Planned Parenthood of selling fetal organs and body parts for profit, and encouraging women to have abortions in order to expand such operations.”
Um, no.
Critics have SEEN that PP sells baby body parts, and often keeps the babies alive to dismember them. We have seen the way these poor babies are tortured, or their deceased little bodies ripped up disrespectfully like a wolf on a sheep.
It’s not about the money; we didn’t think any woman was encouraged to abort to get her parts. It’s about the callous treatment of human beings, dead or alive.
“Most people who smoke marijuana donât go out and shoot people”
Except among gang bangers in Chicago.
