At least 24 activists who advocate for climate change have been placed under house arrest ahead of the highly anticipated United Nations talks in Paris. France used emergency laws that were implemented after the Paris shootings to arrest the green campaigners, the French government confirmed on Saturday. Earlier, the Guardian had reported the news, noting that the warrants delivered to the activists cited state of emergency laws that were imposed after 130 people were killed in terrorist attacks earlier this month.......
......It's not that the French government thinks green campaigners are tantamount to terrorists, but rather that their actions could distract law enforcement from the most important task. "These people have no connection at all with the terrorist movement, but our forces need to be totally focused on the protection of the French people," Cazeneuve added.

Love to give it a try. FWIW, it sounds like the French are trying to "cage" some of their nutcases with this action. It'd be a hoot if the Eco-Nazis ignored the house arrest orders, congregated as planned and were summarily blown to smithereens by another terror cell. Hey, c'est la vie.

Paris climate summit: world leaders told to iron out differences before talks end
Global Warming on Free Republic here, here, and here
>>>Frequently on FR people will suggest laws or policies to be taken against liberals without thinking about how liberal government would apply the action to conservatives<<<
The difference is, we might say something between ourselves but we wouldn’t actually expect our Government to do it.
Liberals on the other hand, and I mean every last one of them, would eagerly Volunteer to help load Conservatives like us onto Railroad Boxcars heading for Concentration Camps of they could get away with it. Don’t doubt me.
Sure.
Liars.
” Donât doubt me.”
I attended a party full of college types just after Obama was elected. They were hysterically happy. A graduate student laughed, saying, “now we need to send all the Republicans to reeducation camp.” A professor in a wheel chair with an oxygen tank said, “Reeducation Hell! Just gas them all.” I left and haven’t attended a party where I didn’t know the other attendees since then.
In practice, it’s usually even worse than that. The liberals would skate somehow, and the law would still be used against conservatives, because libs fight like they want to win, and most government conservatives are pantywaist pussies.
I don’t think most FReepers do, and what I imagine as the average FReeper gun safe contents is a physical manifestation of that lack of doubt.
Time to start taking names on those types.
Uh no, that would only be true if this were a real problem, if humans had something to do with it, and if the proposed "fixes" had something to do with anything other than further empowering tyrants at home and abroad with OUR money and OUR liberties. As it is, not so much.
“Time to start taking names on those types.”
I’m in Tallahassee. Present are employees from the federal, state, county and city; liberals all. In addition there are two universities and several junior colleges. You could probably count the conservatives in town on your fingers and toes and not run out. There hasn’t been a Republican in any office since Reconstruction. No need to take names.
I was prepared to oppose this on principle, but anything Naomi Klein disapproves of must have some merit.
Advocate for climate change?
Chavez/Chaveztias, Argentinia. Daniel Ortega.
Just who is advocating FOR Climate Change? Enquiring minds want to know.
0bama’s ‘legacy’ is going to be that he was a terrorist-sympathizing, ENEMY of America.
And as an Added Bonus, he has DESTROYED the Democrat Party for decades to come.
And I don’t know whether to cheer or throw tomatoes!
So what? This is France. They can do pretty much whatever they please, since they have no Bill of Rights worth mentioning.
How long before Obama tries to do such here????
