The gunman suspected of storming a Planned Parenthood clinic and killing a police officer and two others told the officers who arrested him “no more baby parts,’’ after being taken into custody, according to a law enforcement official.
The attack on the clinic was “definitely politically motivated,’’ the official — who has been briefed on the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity because it is still unfolding — told The Washington Post. NBC News, which first reported the comment attributed to suspect Robert Lewis Dear, said Dear also mentioned President Obama in a range of statements to investigators that left unclear his precise motivation in targeting the clinic.

What is your proof that it was not first intended to be a bank robbery?
Sorry, not the Gazette but KKTV. And he may not be the boyfriend, as the article references a wife.
Other than there is no mention of it by any credible source, i.e., police, Mayor Suther, DA May, no one. All witness statements I have heard or seen online indicate no bank robbery.

The story in the link you posted clearly says “shootings NEAR Planned Parenthood.”
And there is no mention in that story of anyone connected to Stewart getting an ultrasound. Please give a source for that detail.

Fox News Channel and The Gazette report witness accounts that claim the shooting at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic actually began at a nearby Chase Bank location.
Fox News talked on-air to a witness at a nail salon near the Planned Parenthood clinic who "first thought [the incident] was a bank robbery." Cell phone video captured by the witness appeared to show a Chase Bank branch as the first location where law enforcement moved in.
The witness said the suspect ran from the bank to the Planned Parenthood clinic.
The Gazette reported:
Denise Speller, manager at a nearby haircut salon, said she heard roughly 10-20 gunshots in the span of less than five minutes. She said she saw a police cruiser and two officers outside near Chase Bank, not far from the Planned Parenthood facility. One of the officers appeared to fall to the ground and the other office knelt down to render aid, then tried to get the officer to safety behind the car, she said. Another officer told Speller to seek shelter inside the building.
Note that one witness quoted was inside the hair salon, and the other inside a nail salon, (same place?) not inside the bank. She "thought" the bank was being robbed because that's where she saw the first police car - the one she could see from inside the salon from her vantage point. Also note that the first responders where outside "near" the bank which is also near the PP. Also one of the witnesses claimed to see him "coming from the bank" but that could have been misreported and might have been "coming from the direction of the bank".
Where are any witnesses from inside the bank - tellers or customers, who saw this guy come in and try the rob the bank first? Most banks have surveillance cameras so I would expect there would be video of the prep inside the bank trying to rob it. Also bank robbery is a federal offence so the FBI would be in charge of the investigation if it were a bank robbery attempt gone bad.
No. On the very first thread on this the reports were from police scanners.
My theory is that he could have shot two pro-lifers outside the clinic that were trying to discourage people from going into PP and then ran into PP. there is a mostly clear field of fire between PP and Chase bank.
This story is very strange, especially since they’re not releasing any info about the dead and injured victims, other than the LEO that died.

One of the two civilians has been identified, not by CSPD, but by his family. The Gazette and KKTV have confirmed that Army veteran Ke’Arre Stewart was killed when Dear opened fire at PP.

Again, if it were bank robbery gone wrong, I would expect there to have been witnesses from inside the bank. Where are they?
Also "The official told CNN that propane tanks were found in the area of Dear's car in the parking lot, and that authorities believe he was trying to shoot them to cause an explosion." That's not the MO of a bank robber.

Not many people have listened to it on that link, 8,000 views. I don’t think many people are aware that Dear wasn’t inside the building during the first 30 minutes when police were on scene and on the scanners. In this audio the first shooting victim was at Elite Vision, the building in front of Planned Parenthood.
Very sad.
At least one victim, Jennifer Markovsky, was shot while at PP supporting a friend, who was shot in the hand.
