Names and flags have been removed from statehouses and street signs across the US, but at the stone-etched Georgia monument, no one is able to claim victory
Exactly a century ago this holiday weekend, more than a dozen men climbed to the top of a mountain outside Atlanta, pulled on white hoods and lit a 16ft, kerosene-soaked wooden cross. It marked the rebirth of Ku Klux Klan, and Stone Mountain became the Klanâs spiritual home.

Maybe the radicals will do like the Taliban and blow it up?
They’re going to have to dynamite it, and throw the pieces at rape victims, to demonstrate their tolerance.
If you can’t withstand seeing symbols of the South, stay out of the South. How difficult is that?
How far a fall is it from the top of Stone Mountain?
If the BLMers show up, it will get bloody, & fast. TV actually makes them believe that America is already a majority black nation (entertainment, sports, etc).
The 13% take on the 87%? Okaaaaaay.....
Its only a center of tension for those agitators who are paid to make it tense.
The BLM race racketeers are as innumerate as they are intemperate. Their malevolence is tempered by their noisy incompetence..
Yes I do think they have no idea how little 13% is, because most live in the cities. Some people go days without seeing people of color.
The bill passed by unanimous consent in the House on March 6, 1924, and in the Senate five days later; Coolidge signed it on March 17. The bill authorizing the coin read:
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That in commemoration of the commencement on June 18, 1923, of the work of carving on Stone Mountain, in the State of Georgia, a monument to the valor of the soldiers of the South, which was the inspiration of their sons and daughters and grandsons and granddaughters in the Spanish-American and World Wars, and in memory of Warren G. Harding, President of the United States of America, in whose administration the work was begun ...
The great irony is that Stone Mountain (like the Lee Circle statue in New Orleans) is "protected" by the National Register of Historic Places, which has proven to be just another federal entity corrupted by the Marxists.
Screw all of the fascist douchebags. My ancestors were Union men all, but the confederate memorials were a part of the healing and bringing the nation back together that Lincoln asked for.
Piss on them all and let them all white or black shut up or move to Africa and be real Africans. They have no place here anymore.
They love using that “federal funding” threat don’t they?
Why was the Stone Mountain monument ever made?
Let’s say Stone Mountain is a declaration of the loyal opposition - consenting to federal rule so long as Southern culture is respected. Desecrate the memorial and, well, game on again.
How far a fall? Think 9/11. Those falls didn’t end well at all.
I agree.
Kennewick Man was found in 1996 - it was Clinton.
They’d do it first chance the got.
As it’s all granite, and one of the largest sculptures in the world, they’re selling for putting a desecrating “bell” tribute on top
They need to remove the entire mountain
