Sounds to me that the Girl Scouts need to expand the topics of interest in their club meetings and outings.
Warning! Danger! Logic Alert! The Girl Scouts can easily do the cool stuff if that is what they were really about.
How wonderful the girls must feel knowing their parents will go to those same extremes to show then that the parents would rather to have had boys.
Lets don’t go to the trouble to teach them how to excel in their own gender, but to teach them how “oppressed” they are because they’re female.
Little feminists in training
“This is all about TEARING DOWN Boy Scouts....”
I’d say that’s already been done.
Let the freaks squabble, for all I care, but suppose I’ll be subsidizing the “struggle” somehow.
Why, do they too want to be raped by queer scoutmasters?
Good luck with that.
Camp Cherry?
When my middle daughter was about 8, I brought her along to the “Cub-On” Cub Scout camp-out in the Santa Cruz Mountaims with her 6 year old brother who was the Cub Scout. She loved it — shooting, archery, whittling, wildlife, canoeing, exploring. We had a blast. I chaperoned a couple of our older daughter’s Girl Scout camping trips and I don’t think they had nearly as much fun as the boys did.
Good point, but the Girl Scout Leadership has made a deal with Planned Parenthood to teach girls a lot more “important” things - never let your precious daughter have anything to do with the Girl Scouts. For that matter, the Boy Scouts will probably soon be sued for not offering a badge in clothing design and proper hair accessories.
You don’t have to belong to a club to learn guess they didn’t know the boy scouts have a manual add a dad to that problem solved.
Title IX
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance
So these girls want to go to court to kill that exemption
Lesson to be learned never accept the Federal dollar, no matter how tempting it might be.
A private organization can make its own rules and discriminate until they accept the Federal dollar and then there are no longer their own master.
Egalitarianism does not work that way.
This a “socialization” program, not so much to teach skills (which would be a most admirable goal), but to break down “barriers” that prevent human beings from being entirely fungible and easily replaced in any role.
“Equality” achieved by tearing down some virtuous monument to achievement, rather than trying to become competitive on the same or parallel level, is ultimately destructive of all the parties for which “equality” is desired. The high standard no longer exists, and futility feeds upon itself, mediocrity becomes the normal state of things. Incentive and achievement become something to be mocked, and reward becomes meaningless, if any reward is ever extended.
Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World” touched upon this theme.
It is an equalization program built upon lies and false premises using a Constitution meant for the implementation of honest and honorable people.
Emerald Bay
I’ve seen other folks bring up that girls are allowed in BSA programs like the Venture Crews.
Why don’t the Girl Scouts do “cool stuff?” Is it because they are too busy promoting lesbianism and abortion?
I thought the Supreme Court already ruled on this, allowing the scouts to discriminate based on the ‘right of assembly’.
Looks like the Colorado shooter is a liberal nutbag who “identifies” as female so why not?
They should be separate with the same curriculum. What’s the problem.
I guess we both see the problem, really. It really isn’t about learning things. It’s about dissension and legal remedy.
Take your precious, little girl camping if you're so sure she's deprived. You can't teach her?
I'm betting that mommy and daddy camp at the Sheraton.
