Colorado Springs, the location of an attack on a Planned Parenthood clinic that left three people dead, is a centre of rightwing Christian culture with a âwild west mentalityâ when it comes to guns.
The attack, by a lone gunman carrying a rifle or shotgun, took place at a clinic that is the site of regular anti-abortion protests by the cityâs pro-life Christian groups.
Planned Parenthood, aware of hostility about their work, recently moved to the new facility, hoping it would provide more security for staff.
The building has been likened to a fortress by anti-abortion campaigners and Fridayâs attacks revealed that it is equipped with âsafe roomsâ for staff to shelter in the event of such an event. It also has an extensive security camera system.
With anti-abortion policies supported by many Republican presidential candidates such as Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Jeb Bush, rhetoric attacking Planned Parenthood and other such organisations is not hard to find in the city.
Last spring, following the gruesome attack on a Colorado woman who had her unborn-baby ripped from her womb with a knife, state representative and Springs resident Gordon Klingenschmitt said the attack was âthe curse of God upon America for our sin of not protecting innocent children in the wombâ.
Coloradoâs second largest city, with a population of 445,800, has built itself a reputation as a playground for white, pro-gun, pro-life Evangelical Christians. It is also home to one army base, two air force bases, and an air force.

The phot I saw on TV looked like a black guy. Image was way too bright, so that was most likely on purpose. Let’s see him in a better photo.

Police take people alive when they want to. Period.
(And on and on blah, blah, blah)
How did he carry everything they said he had? “Items”, rifle, propane tanks.
A lone gunman now is a stereotype for a wild west Evangelical community? The language used by this reporter is outrageous!
Nope. PoliticalWire.com
Apparently they are a Leftwinger site.
For innocent, helpless children? Not so much.
Prayers for the victims and their loved ones.
From USnews, “the One” has spoken (doesn’t seem to care about the New Orleans mass shooting spree or the daily kills/maims in his adopted home town of Chicago)
“...President Barack Obama says the Planned Parenthood shootings show the urgent need “to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons on war” for “people who have no business wielding them.”
“Enough is enough,” Obama says in a statement a day after a gunman killed three people at a Colorado clinic.
Obama says it’s not known what motivated the shooter, but it’s clear “more Americans and their families had fear forced upon them” â and that, the president says, “is not normal. We can’t let it become normal.”
He says if “we truly care about this â if we’re going to offer up our thoughts and prayers again, for God knows how many times, with a truly clean conscience,” then America must make it harder to get guns.....”
yes, the new normal for MSM under Chairman-Obama.
>>> If the left really believe this nonsense, they would call them âtroubled soulsâ and throw a bunch of money their way. <<<
Do the left believe in souls?
I’m shocked to hear there was a death at the abortion clinic.
“Do the left believe in souls?’’ You bet they do. They gave up some 170 million souls in the last century pursing Utopia. ‘’Dang it though, We’ll get it right someday, you’ll see.’’ the Left always says and never seems to get it right.

Fox News Channel and The Gazette report witness accounts that claim the shooting at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic actually began at a nearby Chase Bank location.
Fox News talked on-air to a witness at a nail salon near the Planned Parenthood clinic who "first thought [the incident] was a bank robbery." Cell phone video captured by the witness appeared to show a Chase Bank branch as the first location where law enforcement moved in.
The witness said the suspect ran from the bank to the Planned Parenthood clinic.
The Gazette reported:
Denise Speller, manager at a nearby haircut salon, said she heard roughly 10-20 gunshots in the span of less than five minutes. She said she saw a police cruiser and two officers outside near Chase Bank, not far from the Planned Parenthood facility. One of the officers appeared to fall to the ground and the other office knelt down to render aid, then tried to get the officer to safety behind the car, she said. Another officer told Speller to seek shelter inside the building.
Note that one witness quoted was inside the hair salon, and the other inside a nail salon, (same place?) not inside the bank. She "thought" the bank was being robbed because that's were she saw the first police car - the one she could see from inside the salon. Also note that the first responders where outside "near" the bank which is also near the PP.
Where are any witnesses from inside the bank - tellers or customers, who saw this guy come in and try the rob the bank first?
Yeah, right? Who said irony was dead?
It does sound great.
I embarrassingly shot my first guns last month in Vegas.
Glock, SCAR and M4.
The M4 was great!
Never associated them with murder, unless of course you’re in a war.
It was just fun.
DUI and DWI involve cars, i’m pretty sure. No car control though.
Was the guy even living in Colorado Springs? I saw some info that he was from Hartsel which is more than 80 miles from Colorado Springs.
No, the left does not believe in souls. The left has bought Satan’s deception that they are soulless.
If that is true, then there is no reason to believe that this was an "attack" on the clinic nor that this was some "right-winger" gone nuts.
I don’t know much about Colorado Springs, but I sure do like Joe Kenda.
