Carson had lost ground in the days immediately following the terrorist attacks in Paris. Just two days ago, Carson was in 4th place with 9.8 percent, behind Donald Trump and Sens. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
The latest tracking poll, covering November 22-27, finds Donald Trump first with 31 percent, followed by Carson with 14.9 percent. Sens. Rubio and Cruz are tied with 8.4 percent each. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is 5th, with 6.5 percent.
According to the updated numbers, Trump has lost most of the polling bounce he received after the Paris terror attacks. Following the attacks, Trump saw his support explode to almost 43 percent, up sharply from the low-to-mid 30s he’s held over the last two months.
Daily fluctuations in tracking polls should always be viewed with some caution, as they are built on a small number of interviews conducted each day. They are very accurate at assessing overall trends, but numbers on a particular day can be overstated.
This is especially true when the tracking period includes a major holiday like Thanksgiving. Friday’s tracking numbers include Black Friday, Thanksgiving, and the day before the holiday, the biggest travel day of the year.
On Wednesday’s tracking poll, for example, businesswoman Carly Fiorina had 2.9 percent support. On Thursday and Friday, though, she registered no support. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) registered zero support as well. Meanwhile, former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore earned 3.2 percent support on Thursday and 2.8 percent support on Friday.

If we chose the nominee on a national basis, that would be impressive.
Sorry for those folks supporting Carson. He is a very nice fellow but not Presidential material - yet.
‘Does anybody actually pay attention to the Reuters poll methodology? Check it out:
1299 respondents: Trump 40%- 11/19
981 respondents: Trump 38.5%- 11/20
636 respondents: Trump 42.4%- 11/21
464 respondents: Trump 42.9%- 11/22
441 respondents: Trump 42.6%- 11/23
381 respondents: Trump 38%- 11/24
362 respondents: Trump 37%- 11/25
358 respondents: Trump 31%- 11/26
346 respondents: Trump 31%- 11/27
Notice how Trumpâs numbers significantly decreased once they began to lower the sample size?’
What do you mean yet?
With all due respect to another FReeper, I dont care what kind of surgery he did, he’s a nut!!
He’s got the look of someone on anti psychotic meds.
The White House would have to be free of hammers and knives.
“Just two days ago, Carson was in 4th place with 9.8 percent”
Now at 15% two days later? Really? 50% increase in support in two days? I think all that tells us is that probably most of these polls are simply nonsense.
You know, I actually noticed how their samples were really small back when they were showing Carson coming close to Trump. I guess they’re at it again since they need a new narrative, but everybody else besides Trump are so far behind it doesn’t really make a huge difference.
Carson seems a likable fellow, he has to have at least a modicum of intelligence to even function as a surgeon but for goodness sake he seems to have come apart at the seams lately.
Trying to stab a friend as a youth!?
Considered whacking his mama over the head with a hammer!?
I don’t believe Carson’s numbers; they don’t make sense at all. What did he do, to make his numbers go up?
yeah, was he going after the serial killer vote with those admissions?
Yes:
We can safely say Trump is at about 40% when the sample goes over 440.
" Interesting that all the samples above 440 have Trump at 42% this one with 38% has a sample of 368."
Come on, he was just pumping up his street cred for the homies.
No, he’s not a nut! He is a fine man and great surgeon. He is just not ready to be running for President as he has little knowledge of foreign affairs.
That does not make him anything other than an inexperienced politician which I actually like but to you he may be something otherwise, that is your choice.
Today, I would take him above any other GOPe politician running but apparently you would like another GOPe politician. That is your choice.

Notice how Trump's numbers significantly decreased once they began to lower the sample size?
Well, I suppose that this is one way to look at it.
The first thing that I noticed--honestly!--is that Donald Trump's numbers have gone down significantly over this eight-day period.
My guess is that his numbers exploded, immediately following the terrorist attack in Paris; and then gradually decreased.
not sure from my post where you figured i wanted a GOPe and not Ted Cruz.
But whatever :)
Don’t think that I inferred that! I also would prefer Ted Cruz so am an bit unsure how you understood my comments otherwise?
Cruz is NOT part of the GOPe as I understand it... Neither is Trump or Carson. All scare the GOP and that is good!
Ah, I see that I inferred that other than Carson would be a GOPe candidate, not what I intended. I can see where you might have taken that wrong, sorry.
no problem.
of course i’d pull the lever for Carson over hillary.
and i could be COMPLETELY off base about his state of mind.
he’s catching flak for being a 7th day Adventist.
I come from a different planet...Staten Island, NY :)
Majority Italian roman Catholic with a bunch of Irish and now some Russians and albanians moving in (yuck)
I dont know WELL a person of any other religion.
And that leaves me completely out of those conversations.
Sorry to say that you do come off as a strange fellow!
Religion, please, why would you care about another persons religion unless it is terrorist based.
Yes, you do seem from a different planet if you consider Staten Island a different planet. Sorry, but you seem to have some real problems.
Other than you seem to be a religious quack and a bit of a (well who knows) kook, you should not be posting here.
Sorry, that I responded...geez!
