A retired truck driver flying through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is warning American flyers their experience may not be secure, after he was able to pass a loaded handgun through a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint. Speaking to Britainâs Daily Mail, the flyer says while packing his gun was purely accidental, he feels the TSA should have caught it prior to departure.
The incident happened on November 5, as 67-year-old Blake Alford was preparing to fly from ATL to Chicago Midway Airport (MDW). In his bag was a Ruger .38 pistol, loaded with a full magazine of seven hollow-point bullets. The weapon was in Alfordâs carry-on luggage by mistake. However, when it went through the TSA checkpoint, Alford says it was undetected.
Alford only discovered the gun after arriving in Chicago, after unpacking.

S&W 686+ is a 7-shot 357 revolver. There is also an 8 shot 357 revolver model 327/627 in the Performance Center line.

I’m looking at a 65-3 357.....
6 banger wheel...
I am in love with it and have been for a long time.
Possibly a .38 Super...?
LOL. I’ve had them confiscate bottles before where there was next to nothing in the container, but because the container label said it was larger than 3.4 fl ounces, they made me toss it. They go by the label, not how much is actually left inside.
Drat...you've assumed a fact not in evidence.
I like the stainless S&W revolvers. Quality builds and easy to maintain.
