U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump's support among Republicans has dropped 12 points in less than a week, marking the real estate mogul's biggest decline since he vaulted to the top of the field in July, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
Trump was the favorite of 31 percent of Republicans in a rolling poll in the five days ended on Nov. 27. That was down from a peak of 43 percent registered on Nov. 22.
The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.
Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.
Trump has also been criticized for flailing his arms and distorting his speech as he mocked a New York Times reporter, Serge Kovaleski, who is disabled.
Trump mocked the reporter as he defended his unsubstantiated assertion that during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, he watched on television as "thousands and thousands" of people in New Jersey cheered while the World Trade Center fell.
Still, Trump is not the only front-runner to slide in the latest survey.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has seen his poll numbers drift downward and now trails Trump by more than half, with just 15 percent of Republicans polled saying they would vote for him in the same Nov. 27 poll. As recently as late October, Carson trailed Trump by only six points.
Following Carson, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are tied for third place, with more than 8 percent each.

Go Cruz.
Dims who have sucked up the talking points dished out by the central committee for correct thinking.
#Headlies
I’ve been collecting Headlies for an editorial, which will appear here first. :)
Do you support the “civil rights” of homosexual marriage, abortion, euthanasia, free medical care, free college, welfare, food stamps, affirmative action, free housing, and obamaphones?.
I sure as hell don’t.
You cared enough about his one enough to take a swipe at Trump, and ignore the low rating of Cruz though.
Looks like Pataki is surging! ;-)
I’m with you, but there’s one problem Trump and this reporter were on a first name basis with each other for a number of years and had in person interviews for articles on Trump. Now, I’m sure this reporter is a jerk and I get why Trump would be upset at him for his attack, and if Trump wanted to attack the reporter on his integrity then I would back that 110%. But, Trump decides to take a cheap shot and make fun of someone’s disability that they can’t control, it’s the easy way out, attack the reporter on their ideas or dishonesty not on a disability he/she can’t control.
One poll. This is done to back up the anti Trumpsters like you. And you want to buy it until they do the same to Cruz. it has already begun.
He’s still winning by a huge margin. Go Trump!
Those aren’t original Cruz supporters. They are former Scott Walker people that just made a home with Cruz when he dropped out, and brought their 24/7 Trump bashing with them.
When I was firmly in the Cruz camp, we knew of the relationship between them and acted accordingly. These new jokers just exist to go after Trump.
The Reuters poll has a history of very being bouncy.
The 43% number was probably an outlier. No other internet or land line poll has ever had him that high, so this 12 point drop is probably a little bit exaggerated.
On the other hand, these silly media feuds don’t do him much good long term. He has his base of support of around 25-30% but he’s not going to expand out of that base unless he becomes more disciplined as a candidate.
Where did the article say any of that...Trump said he has never met him, didn’t know him, never talked to him...show me the article where it says that...
And don’t ever believe that I won’t stand up to someone being handicapped and the crap they take, I have a daughter who is 52 years old, handicapped, married, has a son, husband, graduated from school, drives her own car, takes care of her own house and cooks her own meals, so if you go there with that....I’m the WRONG person to tangle on this one....
Those are not true civil rights. They are judicially created abominations. The civil rights that Trump has threatened are Freedom of Religion, The freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, and the right to private property (his support of the KELO decision).
"Civil rights" ? What in blue blazes are you talking about? What "civil rights" do you imagine that Trump wants to take away from you?
He didn't "mock" that reporter at all and even if he did, I'm glad that he did and the MSM deserve everything he says about them and more! TO HELL WITH PC !
He was hurt by the beat down of the BLM guy I think. The other stuff not so much.
Surging right past Linda at -1%?
I noticed that, but one would think they could see that Walker was a weenie, he dropped out when he realized he had to fight for it and it wasn’t in the bag for him. LOL
We don’t need a guy like that.
He may be an okay governor but he was not ready to fight at the top.
No actually, it’s more than one poll, the polls in Iowa are starting to tighten up. Cruz is within the MOE in a PPP Iowa poll and a CBS battleground poll has Cruz in a close second to Trump. National polls don’t bother me one bit right now, voters haven’t voted in the primaries yet and a lot can happen between now and February. I like Cruz’s surge and he’s my candidate, so when he moves up and the front runner falls I’m not going to lie and say I’m not happy about it.
And he will by a landslide...oh the good old media, trying everything they can to de ride someone they are afraid of....lol....
