Trump demands NY Times apologize for accusation

Donald Trump, leading Republican candidate for president, took his spat with the New York Times to the next level, doubling down on his denial of mocking a handicapped reporter and then demanding the newspaper apologize for accusing him of doing so.

In tweets sent out Thanksgiving Day, Trump said once again he didn't poke fun of Serge Kovaleski, a New York Times journalist who suffers from arthrogryposis, a congenital condition that restricts the movements of his arms.

His campaign first opened with this clarification: "Donald J. Trump today demanded an apology fro the failing New York Times which accused him (during a major speech before 10,000 people in Myrtle Beach, SC) of mocking a reporter's physical disability when in fact, Mr. Trump does not know anything about the reporter or anything about what the reporter looks like. He was merely mocking the fact that the reporter was trying to pull away from a story that he wrote 14 years ago."

Problem is, Trump claims to not be aware of the guy's condition or remember who he is. Fine, but before he gestured, he says "You've got to see this guy."

I think Trump remembers the reporter and what his condition is. I'm not outraged by it, but I also don't believe he's being honest in his denial.

Brit’s a washed up has was with no option to think for himself. He’s told what to think and say and gladly does so.

Brit Hume is no man. He spends his life putting on makeup for on camera time and wiping his ass the rest.

He lives in the past and his “friends” mearly tolerate him.

I gotta admit I don’t think I could take 8 years of this crap with Trump and the media and the back and forth - it is exhausting to listen too.

In lieu of what?. . .eight years of groveling over the "first black President" and then eight more years of groveling over "the first woman President?". . .or, what, JEB?. . BWWWWAAAAAHHHA HAAA

Trump's back and forth with the media is like eating ice cream. . .I'm a thirsty man finding a cup of water in the desert. .I'M LOVIN SOMEBODY, ANYBODY WITH THE CAHOONIES TO DO THE BACK AND FORTH WITH THE MEDIA!!!

Long may it continue!!!

“You got to see this guy” is a turn of phrase used by many and doesn’t always mean what you exclusively seem to think it means. And the You Tube video simply shows him imitating a flustered individual. If you want to see more into it because you don’t like Trump, so be it.

I'm hoping he'll find 50 ways to sue them into the abyss for their slander ...

Here's a quote from an article from another thread, cited below :

He's referring of course to the recent hubbub over el Trumpo mocking a New York Times reporter and many in the media claiming that he did it to make fun of his disability. He has vehemently denied that he did it on purpose, and says he doesn't even know the reporter, though the reporter claims they knew each other on a first-name basis. Could be interesting to see this one go to court. NYT is bankrolled by Carlos Slim: As of 3 November 2015 he was #2 on Forbes list of billionaires, with net worth estimated at $63.5 billion.

You said it, brother! The limp sisters here who can’t take 3 months of attacking the media need to get on Jeb’s bandwagon. Maybe they can raise his pathetic poll numbers.

I just commented on another site that simply because this reporter remembers Trump....it would be a stretch to assume that Trump remembers the reporter. The celebrity, the candidate, the football coach, whatever....they don’t always remember the reporters, but the reporters remember them.

Thus I believe Trump in this situation...just like I believed Rush when he said he was not mocking Fox. It just makes common sense. Trump would not be mocking someone he doesn’t even remember.

I don’t like him as a candidate, but I’m not reading any more into it because of that. It’s no more ‘coincidental’ than Obama’s ‘my muslim faith’ Freudian slip was.

As someone who has occasionally met famous people two or three times - sometimes within the space of a month - they DO NOT remember casual conversations with virtual strangers. That always disappoints fans. I’ve seen fans turn on actors because the actor had no recollection of meeting the fan prior. People are downright silly sometimes!

Yes, Trump is not a docile Republican who will not defend himself.

” don’t think I could take 8 years of this crap with Trump.

As president there would be a lot less bluster. But I’d take Trump’s crap any day over Obama’s.

'I gotta admit I don’t think I could take 8 years of this crap with Trump and the media and the back and forth - it is exhausting to listen too.'

The press will treat any GOP POTUS this way. If you don't want to hear it your choices are:

1. Hope for the democrat to win.
2. Hope for a GOP POTUS who will tuck his tail between his legs and apologize every time the press accuses him of something.

I'll take eight years of Trump beating the press like a rented mule.
