RUSH: The Washington Post. Mike, I'm sorry I'm gonna do this to you, I know the answer's what's gonna be, and I should have prepared. By any chance, could put your hands on that 47-second Kasich super PAC ad they ran against Trump that we played? It was sound bite number one yesterday. I mean, I have to have it within seconds. You can find it here in, you know, 10 minutes or so. Once we have it, it's in our archives.
The reason is the Washington Post has a story on it. The headline: "New Kasich Ad: If Trump Becomes President, 'You Better Hope There's Someone Left to Help You.'" Now, we don't have this ad. I just wanted to play the ad they ran yesterday, or the first ad that has run. The presidential campaign for Governor John Kasich put out a new ad. This is the -- well, now, wait a minute. This might be the Kasich campaign, not the super PAC. The super PAC and the campaign are two different things.
Okay, he's got it. Let's just review. The Kasich super PAC, which by law cannot communicate with the candidate, by law Kasich can't coordinate with them, they can raise untold amounts of money. There are very few limits on a super PAC. But at the same time the campaign can't coordinate, Kasich can't coordinate, he's supposed to be hands off and a very large distance. The super PAC announced that they were gonna go get Trump. They're fed up. They're made up of establishment Republican types. They thought Trump would have imploded by now, or they thought that efforts to take Trump out would have succeeded by now.
So they decided they're gonna do it themselves, and they have been raising independent money, money alongside whatever they're raising for the super PAC to fund an ad buy of TV commercials and others that are supposedly warn people supporting Trump what a mistake they're making. These ads are supposed to tell Trump voters or supporters just how bad Trump is, just how egregious he is. It's supposed to wake them up and let them know that they're supporting a loose cannon or whatever.
And their first ad was just a series of Trump sound bites, things Trump has said either on the stump or on television in interviews or at campaign appearances. They even went back, they got one from 2006 with Meredith Vieira talking to Trump when he was on The View. That's nine years ago. In their first ad, they had to go back nine years to find something to give this thing 47 seconds. Here is the ad.

TRUMP: I have a great relationship with the blacks. I've always had a great relationship with the blacks.
UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN
: The blacks.
TRUMP: Well, I just don't respect her as a journalist. You know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out her... wherever.
TRUMP: Somebody's doing the raping, Don. I mean, you know, it's -- I mean, somebody's doing the -- there's women being raped. Well, who's doing the raping?
TRUMP: The belt moves this way. It moves this way. How stupid are the people of Iowa?
RUSH: (laughing) So that ad is designed to wake Trump supporters up and to realize that Trump, the guy they're supporting, is this loose cannon, says all of these outrageous, mean things, and once you find out there's no way you're gonna stick with him.
Now, the Meredith Vieira clip from 2006 on The View, that's when Trump said if Ivanka weren't my daughter, I'd probably date her. And that's when Meredith Vieira said, "You're so weird!" Nine years old, it is. So, anyway, that's the first ad. There are more like that coming. So the Washington Post story on all of this says: "New Kasich Ad: If Trump Becomes President, 'You Better Hope There’s Someone Left to Help You.'
"The presidential campaign of John Kasich put out a new ad lashing out directly at Donald Trump with a harsher tone than any other candidate has taken thus far. The gloves are off in the fight between John Kasich and Donald Trump. Well, technically they've been off since last Friday. But the Kasich campaign released a Web ad Tuesday directly attacked Trump with a darker tone than any other candidate has used so far to go after the business mogul.
"The spot features retired Air Force Col. Tom Moe speaking at an event in Ohio, the same day Trump held a rally in Columbus. Moe, who the Kasich campaign identifies as a former Vietnam POW, paraphrases a quote from Protestant pastor Martin Niemoller, taken from his lectures after World War II."
Here is the paraphrased quote: "You might not care if Donald Trump says Muslims should register with their government, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says he's going to round up all the Hispanic immigrants, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump says it's okay to rough up black protesters, because you're not one. And you might not care if Donald Trump wants to suppress journalists, because you're not one. But think about this: If he keeps going, and he actually becomes president, he might just get around to you. And you better hope there's someone left to help you."
This is a takeoff on the old, when they came for the Jews, I didn't care 'cause I wasn't a Jew, and when they came for the diamond merchants ... And when they came for me, there was nobody left to help me. It's an old German Nazi philosophy. So Kasich has run an ad here saying that we're looking at a dictator. And this dictator, this Trump guy is gonna get rid of anybody he doesn't like, and he's gonna use the fill force of the federal government to get rid of 'em, to nullify 'em, to disappear them, or what have you. And eventually he's gonna get to you. And when he does, there's not gonna be anybody left to help you. Again, this is not the super PAC. This is right from the Kasich campaign.
"The new spot came just a day after both the campaign and the super PAC supporting Kasich released a pair of spots attacking the GOP front-runner -- and hours after the candidates' latest Twitter spat." Now, I don't know. Do you want me to go through and parse this, this thing, sentence by sentence? 'Cause it's kind of crazy. "You might not care if Donald Trump said Muslims should register with their government, because you're not one." That's a gross exaggeration of what Trump has said.

RUSH: You know the Republican establishment, this Kasich ad: You might not care if Trump says Muslims should register with the government 'cause you're not one, but pretty soon he's gonna come for you, you better hope there's somebody there to care for you, to help you. This ad is really just another illustration of, I think, how disconnected the entire Washington political establishment is with the rest of the country and totally misses the point of Trump versus the Republican establishment. 
Right now, Governor Kasich, or any of the rest of you, right now Americans don't feel safe. Right now. Right now Americans don't feel safe. Not economically, they don't feel safe from a national security standpoint. And there's one guy in the campaign who is talking as though he understands that and intends to do something about it.
There's one guy in this entire campaign consistently, thematically talking about making this country great again, which would include making it safe again. You can say what you want about Trump's supporters from now until the sun goes down, but I'll tell you what they think. Trump's supporters think that Trump is gonna fight the SOBs coming after them, whoever they are. So the Kasich people run this ad, Trump's gonna be going after everybody and snatching everybody off the street and putting them somewhere, and when he comes for you, there isn't gonna be anybody left to help you.
The Trump supporters think that Trump is already fighting the people who are trying to do that, euphemistically. Whether they're in Washington, whether they're south of the border, whether they're in the Middle East, there are already people coming for us, is what Trump supporters believe. We're already under siege. We're already victims of an invasion. They don't think Trump is the guy that's gonna start the invasion. They think Trump is the guy that's gonna stop it. So ads like this are not gonna help the people running them.

RUSH: This is what the Kasich ad against Trump is based on. It's by Reverend Martin Niemoller and it's written about the Nazis and here's how it goes. You've heard this. This will ring a bell when I start.

So now it's I guess okay for a Republican campaign to run an ad comparing another Republican to a Nazi, because that's clearly what the Kasich ad is built on or influenced by, the ad against Trump.

CALLER: Oh, thank you. Yeah, I'd like to make two quick points on the word Islamophobia.
RUSH: Yeah.
CALLER: The first being that word was made up by Islamists so they would have a slur to paint their opponents with. And it is meant as a slur. Secondly, a phobia is an unrealistic fear. Well, given that Mohammed flat said it's their duty before Allah to conquer the world. Fearing him and his ways is not unnatural; it's actually a rational self-defense.
RUSH: Yeah, you know, you're right, because homophobia is a term designed to tag somebody as a bigot or racist or sexist, something like that.
CALLER: Yeah, if you don't have the facts on your side, call people names.
RUSH: Right. Well, I’ll tell you what. What you're saying here is akin to one of my all-time favorite phrases. Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
CALLER: This is so true.
RUSH: So just because you're an Islamophobe does not mean that they're not out to get you.
CALLER: There's no such thing as an Islamophobe. It's a phony term. It's not real. Based on ignorance.
RUSH: Yeah, but that's not the way to deal with it because it's used and it's going to be used. It's like feminazi was not a word 'til I made it one, and now it is, and of course the feminazis don't like it.
CALLER: Well, at least "feminazi" has a legitimate value. "Islamophobe" doesn't --
RUSH: Yes siree. (laughing) That's exactly right. Well, look, I appreciate your thinking. I understand exactly what you're saying. Islamophobe is a contrived word, and it is a way to silence people. It's a way to intimidate or bully them. And the same thing with homophobe. Plus it's not even accurate. You know, people opposed to gay marriage are not homophobes. They just happen to believe that marriage is a certain thing and don't believe the definition ought to be bastardized. Words mean things in the other words. Jerry, thanks.

The ad was useless.
It’s like a braver, more boring version of John McCain read out some anti-Trump talking points.

Kasich’s campaign is BIZZARE to say the least. Instead of spending precious money attacking the Democrats and Hillary in particular, he wastes them on Trump.
He should drop out instead of throwing more money away.
Kasich is our gov, the leading 'pub in the state for the Republican convention. How's that going to play, with all of those Trump delegates and a gov who called their candidate Nazi-like?

Kasich’ disgusting behavior shows us to what lengths the moneyed folks (i.e. the Crony Captalists/ Chamber of Communists) will go to try and maintain their grip on our government. When you peel the “financial onion,” the Koch Bros, and George Soros are birds of a feather. But they had better start worrying about how they are going to “gain access” to a Trump Administration. Trump didn’t get where he is today by “letting bygones be bygones” for people who caused him trouble.

From my perspective, Kasich’s ad is pro Trump. I thought there was no one left to speak for me until Donald Trump came along.
I don’t get it about Republican candidates (who have NO CHANCE of beating the other candidate) running vicious attack ads.
Kasich is an idiot. If his campaign staff thinks they will survive this, they are bigger idiots.
If I were the eventual Republican candidate, I would make sure NONE OF THESE PEOPLE GET HIRED AGAIN, EVER.
Is Kasich secretly supporting Hillary? Did he hire people from Joe Biden’s staff?
My first impression of Kasich was that he is a dumb dullard. That hasn’t changed, but now he’s getting nasty with desperation.
All what attack ads do is turn me off against the candidate who either runs them or has them run.
BTW, did you know that K-sick’s father was a mailman? (and a male man).
