Instead of voting to "encumber and bog down the refugee process," Republicans should go along with a Democrat demand to bar people on a secret government list from buying guns, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said on Monday.
Earnest said the Republican plan to beef up the vetting of refugees will not improve national security: "Again, if Congress were actually interested in doing that, they'd pass a law that would prevent somebody who's on the terror watch list from being able to buy a gun. That's what Congress should do.
"And as people are sitting around the Thanksgiving table, talking about these issues, as they should, and as I'm sure they will all across the country, I hope that's a question that will be raised, and asked by members around the table--that if we're going to have a serious discussion in this country about national security, let's talk about some pretty obvious things that Congress can do

WH said this exact same thing last yr.
The only question I would be asking about guns would be this: Where is the best place to purchase a weapon; and where is the best place to get the proper training ..??
Otherwise, I would not be discussing anything else about any type of weapon.
Count on it! Gun control will be a subject of discussion around our dinner table, but not from Obama’s perspective.
WH: Americans Should Talk About Gun Control ‘Around the Thanksgiving Table
W will but it will be more about grouping and the best calibers for illegals and the other invaders.
A few years ago the Obamistas called on people to bother the crap out of their relatives at the Thanksgiving table about Obamacare. I told my wife, because there was one particularly idiotic 20-something, college-going female invited. I was careful not to start...instead, a friend of mine asked me what I thought of O’care. Let’s just say that the conversation turned, uh, interesting. I got the last laugh when I asked this brain-dead idiot why she wasn’t against it, and why I wasn’t for it - after all, she and her whole generation were subsidizing the medical care of all of us old (early 50’s, but for a 20-something that’s old) conservatives. I told her that I was against it, despite it being in my financial interest to be for it, because it was utter crap and would bankrupt the country while providing worse care for almost everyone.
Note that I won’t invite any more libtards to the TG table - I look forward to the meal too much to have it spoiled by shitferbrains idiots like that...
...but, should anyone care to raise the gun issue, I’d let them have it: The “no-fly” list has no judicial review whatsoever, you can be put on it with a simple accusation, or with mistaken identity...so there is no due process whatsoever involved. Banning people on that list from legally acquiring guns is a CLEAR violation of the 5th Amendment, plus the 2nd, of course.
We use to talk gun control around the Thanksgiving table, because grandpa, my uncle, dad, and us cousins took shotguns out on Thanksgiving morning and walked the rail road tracks scarring up birds, it was a tradition along with Dallas Cowboys v Detroit Lions and then grandmas dinner.
I’ll be dropping hint about that Hi-Point compact for less than $175. Need a truck gun.
The white house WANTS a terrorist attack on our soil. They dream of another 9/11.
Yes, I am serious.
Only if one is a complete doofus with no sense of social decorum, but someone who feels it necessary to browbeat people at the dinner table.
Here we will thank GOD for so many blessings.
Watch a little football, eat too much and talk politics.
Mostly that being how pathetically bad Senore’ Obammy is and has been.
There will probably be talk about gun control around our table, but not in the manner Obama wants. Hunting, reloading ammo, and ballistics are common topics around our table.
Americans Should Talk About **buying** Guns ‘Around the Thanksgiving Table.
sanitized for you protection.
They never learn. I'm getting flashbacks. Arghhh!:
We will be talking gun control. I think the emphasis will be handguns, with a trip to the range thrown in.
I am all in favor of sensible gun laws, starting with a repeal of almost every single gun law in existence since almost all of them are useless and foolish. I am also in favor of proper gun control, including breath control and trigger control. Practice is the key.
Everyone at my Thanksgiving table will be conservative......and we don’t talk politics or guns (unless someone bought a new one lol). We just have a great, if somewhat dysfunctional, family get together.
There will be lots of gun control talk at our tablle; talk about how to defeat and/or circumvent any communist action. After dinner, some will be grouse hunting and others will engage in rifle and pistol exercises from the front porch. God Bless America.
Visiting my Mother’s in Phoenix area and mission accomplished! Just talked with her about the proper two handed stance when using a hand gun. Also explained the advantage of a two point sling and EOTECH optics (with magnifier) for quick, accurate, reflex shots on those in dire need of it. Last but not least discussed the four rules of firearm safety.
So White House Staffers are we good?
How is it that this administration has to ruin every fricken holiday by trying to tell us what to talk about.
They should. Hey, the turkey is already dead so no need to shoot it again. And there needs to be someone in control of the guns, knives and forks when the cousins start fighting over the last drumstick.
