Turkmen forces claim they shot dead two Russian pilots

Turkmen forces in Syria claim they have shot dead the two pilots of a Russian fighter jet downed by Turkey near its border.

A deputy commander of a Turkmen brigade said the pilots were shot in the air as they descended with parachutes.

Alpaslan Celik, a deputy commander in a Syrian Turkmen brigade said: "Both of the pilots were retrieved dead. Our comrades opened fire into the air and they died in the air."

The commander was speaking near the Syrian village of Yamadi as he held what he said was a piece of a pilot's parachute. Last updated Tue 24 Nov 2015

I just saw a video of about of muzz surrounding a dead Russian pilot, and of course they were shouting Allahu Ackbar. The story is the muzz shot the flier as he was descending in his parachute. If that is true, the muzz just poked the wrong bear.

Check this guy out for retread status.

Sad part is, AM, I agree with a lot of his positions. But I’m not sure he’s got the temperament to be here.

We’ll see.

You mean to say that total disrespect of sovereignty is not a issue and that Russia was justified in invading their neighboring countries of Georgia as well for the second time (the first was early in the 20th century) and that they had every justification for doing so.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Muslims. Nothing at all.

The Putinista rooting section can’t see beyond their ignorant myopia, and thus are clapping away, sucking up Russian propaganda and remain oblivious to the end game.

The reason this is occurring now, is that a leadership vacuum is being filled due to Obama’s total lack of ability to do anything, and it involves China now as well.

China too, is using the Muslim insurgents as a excuse since it has worked so well for the Russians as it applies to a successful propaganda campaign with many Americans.

The fact is, that the political end game has no relationship to insurgents of any kind. It’s about expanding their area of influence.

But I don’t expect you’ll change now.

This will not end well. Turkey just kicked the hornets nest.

These guys are not Turkish nationals.

The Turkmen are ethnic Turks who have lived in the region of Syria, Iraq and Iran since the 11th Century. They are mainly concentrated in the north, in the Turkmen Mountain area in Latakia close to the Turkish border, as well as in Aleppo, Idlib, Homs, Tartus and the Damascus region.

The EU report stated that Georgia started the shooting war and shot at Russians. The Russians were guilty of excessive force in retaliation - whatever that means.

The former president of Georgia had to flee his country and is a wanted man there for dictatorial corruption. He maybe started the war the way Argentina's dictators started the war over the Falklands to distract people from his problems.

EU Report: Independent Experts Blame Georgia for South Ossetia War

hey are published. The independent commission appointed by the European Union to investigate the war between Georgia and Russia last summer has concluded that Tbilisi is responsible for causing the five-day conflict, SPIEGEL has learned.

It would never have occurred if the Russians had not stirred it up. They always, (historically) use the well worn excuse for a initial passive invasion by saying that Russian citizens are at risk.

In Georgia they have used the same excuse twice and will use it again.

The business about corruption is standard propaganda. It's so standard that it's almost ignored these days..

Except for people like yourself who see Putin as a modern hero.

I see him as a ex-commie, who longs for the once great Soviet Union empire, even though it was a totally manufactured joke, held together by intimidation. Now he is stepping out and playing much of the world (especially Europe) like a cheap fiddle.

In the end, his country will be destroyed, perhaps ours as well, but he thinks he will prevail.

He's no hero.

He's a thug.

Not quite. The Turkmen who shot the parachuting survivors are ethnic Turks from Syria. They are some of the "good" Syrian terrorists that Obama is supporting with our tax dollars. Shooting the parachutists has nothing to do with NATO or with Turkey. Turkey shot down the airplane, but that was a legitimate attack if the jet was in their airspace. The war crime was committed by Obama's Syrian friends.

The United States believes Russia’s incursion into Turkish airspace on Tuesday likely lasted only a matter of seconds before Turkey shot down a Russian warplane, a U.S. official said, saying the assessment was based on preliminary indications.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the United States was still investigating the incident.

I’m pretty sure the Turkmen in this region of Syria are not signatories of the Geneva Convention. Now, Syria is a signatory however the sovereignty of Syria’s claim over the Syrian Turkmen is somewhat in dispute currently.
