You mean to say that total disrespect of sovereignty is not a issue and that Russia was justified in invading their neighboring countries of Georgia as well for the second time (the first was early in the 20th century) and that they had every justification for doing so.

The EU report stated that Georgia started the shooting war and shot at Russians. The Russians were guilty of excessive force in retaliation - whatever that means.

The former president of Georgia had to flee his country and is a wanted man there for dictatorial corruption. He maybe started the war the way Argentina's dictators started the war over the Falklands to distract people from his problems.

EU Report: Independent Experts Blame Georgia for South Ossetia War

hey are published. The independent commission appointed by the European Union to investigate the war between Georgia and Russia last summer has concluded that Tbilisi is responsible for causing the five-day conflict, SPIEGEL has learned.

It would never have occurred if the Russians had not stirred it up. They always, (historically) use the well worn excuse for a initial passive invasion by saying that Russian citizens are at risk.

In Georgia they have used the same excuse twice and will use it again.

The business about corruption is standard propaganda. It's so standard that it's almost ignored these days..

Except for people like yourself who see Putin as a modern hero.

I see him as a ex-commie, who longs for the once great Soviet Union empire, even though it was a totally manufactured joke, held together by intimidation. Now he is stepping out and playing much of the world (especially Europe) like a cheap fiddle.

In the end, his country will be destroyed, perhaps ours as well, but he thinks he will prevail.

He's no hero.

He's a thug.
